Seconded!
post
now i can get on board with this
Flock's CEO has the most punchable face. Even if the installation of Flock Safety cameras wasn't incredibly unpopular among everyone except Flock safety, law enforcement and those who are on the take from them. The sentiment would likely still be the same because he's just such a fucking tool.
God damn that rules.
I'm sure the quote was taken out of context. Why don't we fly the Flock ceo out to clarify things?

I'd like to buy that man a beer. Unfortunately that would mean going to Tennessee, but still.
Oh but when I say it...
guillotine is faster and less cruel.
Ah ok, because my other comment was moderated, it was saying that a hanging can be done properly such that it instantly snaps the neck, severs the spinal cord.
... and then my original comment also suggested that it would be a gosh darned shame if the hanging was not done properly.
Lets see if this comment remains unmoderated, and we can thus determine that .world only allows for descriptions of execution methods that are instant and non sarcastic.
...why would we want that?
I live around Blountville. This doesn't surprise me a bit. When they first put up a speed camera on the highway someone shot it. They fixed the camera and it was shot again.
Based. Those who give up freedom in exchange for security deserve neither.
You should probably repost this on an instance where I can publicly agree with the sentiment.
Of course only a Republican, who BROUGHT FLOCK TO POWER, would be so crass and hypocritical.
You probably can't in Tennessee without legal changes or a convoluted set of court cases.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capital_punishment_in_Tennessee
The method of execution is lethal injection, but a prisoner condemned before January 1, 1999, may choose to be electrocuted instead. Electrocution is also provided if lethal injection is found to be unconstitutional or if any drug necessary to carry it out is unavailable. If electrocution is found to be unconstitutional, state statutes then provide the use of "any constitutional method of execution".[2]
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanging_in_the_United_States
Currently, only New Hampshire has a law specifying hanging as an available secondary method of execution, now only applicable to one person, who was sentenced to capital punishment by the state prior to its repeal in 2019.[3]
I remember first hearing about the rumblings of privacy issues with Flock - but could someone summarize or point to a good summary as to the why?
There are a metric shit-ton of companies spying on and tracking everyone and reselling that data, etc. Why is Flock in the crosshairs right now?
Seems a bit harsh. Privately would be just fine.
Nah.
Personally I say we bring back drawing and quartering.
Publically, of course.
What, does it being public make it worse somehow?
Who cares about your public reputation, you'd be dead afterwards.
We should bring back boiling people in oil. We can do it during the Superbowl halftime show. Brought to you by Crisco!
The president is out there allegedly joking about committing genocide (military destruction of a civilization is an act of genocide if you didn't know btw), this guy can allegedly joke about hanging an unliked CEO
We can't be sure they got the right guy unless we see them do it in public. Otherwise they could just put up an AI video and say they did it, or hang an innocent mailroom guy and claim it was him.
I'm torn between not wanting to make political violence normal and wanting these terrible people to destroy themselves with in fighting.
We're well past the point of political violence being normal.
There's a fascist patamilitary force murdering and kidnapping. They're systematically denying safe food and medical care which has resulted in many deaths. The first time round they were literally seperating kids from their parents and putting the kids in cages.
That's all political violence that's happening in the open.
Have you not turned on the news in 10 years?
Political violence has been normalized for a pretty good amount of time now.
The US has been having a pretty good amount of... violent Nazi/Christian Theocrat/White Supremacist public intimidation marches... President incited an insurrection... public brawls when bigots try to assault pride events... and that was all during Trump's first term.
I think like at least 5 people have now attempted to assasinate Trump, probably more than that...
Kirk got popped... etc etc.
People are being killed now because Flock read their license plate wrong. The violence has always been here, it is just the state and large corporations that has been doing it
Don't be torn. Neither of them care for you or your society. You can only get so far with kindness and pacifism.
Yeah, I think it's a dangerous precedent to set for a county commissioner to openly call for public execution.
I think that should be on the table for the worst offenders, like trump and most of his cabinet, musk, thiel, etc.; But it's for the courts to decide whether their actions amount to treason and what the sentence should be. That power doesn't belong in the executive branch, not beyond appointed special counsel to investigate wrongdoing to bring it before a grand jury.
That being said, this commissioner literally said he wants to "make america great again" so clearly he drank the trump koolaid and is only upset about this because it's blowing up in his face enough for the constituents he cares about to raise a fuss.
That definitely is not a good reason to call for executions.
I'm not saying the Flock CEO hasn't committed what amounts to treason, but again, that's for the courts to decide. The US government let him do it all for this long, so it's not like he was subverting them or anything. This smells like making him a patsy to avoid accountability for allowing it to happen in the first place.
Also, it's not like killing off the CEO will fix the problem. They'll just replace him and continue on with business as usual. What needs to happen is Flock as a company needs to be dissolved, the shareholders held liable for damages, the cameras removed and destroyed, and their data centers and other properties, hardware, infrastructure, etc., all need to be liquidated, databases wiped, drives destroyed, etc. etc. etc.
Executing the CEO achieves none of that. All it does is normalize state-sponsored violence.
"Mr. Carr, we’re not going to threaten violence to anybody,” Gardner said.
What if we call it a death sentence? Is that threatening violence? What if just a prison sentence is that also violence? Yes. So stop complaining, it's a valid suggestion as long as you don't oppose the death penalty which Gardener probably doesn't.
quite frankly, sir, I don’t think we can make America great again without hanging your CEO publicly for treason.
I feel like that phrasing indicates MAGA is against flock (or this commissioner thought so, but that’s also an indicator). That’s reassuring somehow.
It would be lovely if mass surveillance somehow backdoored class consciousness into MAGA supporters and got them to support human rights.
It well could, if we could, ahah, capitalize on this rhetorical opportunity, this moment where seemingly 'everyone disliked that' is truly and actually a near universal sentiment amongst the working class, regardless of seemingly all else.
You wanna tear down flock cameras?
Good.
Now, are you a bad enough dude to tear down the entire system that makes Flock cameras not only possible, but inevitable?
Welcome to the revolution, comrade.
...something like that.
You just need the right narrative.
As has been said:
We need a movement with a quickness,
You are the witness to change, and to counteract,
We gotta take the power back.
My maga coworkers are kind of becoming based socialists. They don't understand it yet, but for some reason are a lot less against it in the right context. You can't just call it socialism, its gotta feel like some homestead grass roots, 1776 coded bullshit.
If you just use overtly patriotic phrases kind of like how MAGA has coined make america great again, they digest it much easier.
Their brains are getting broken right now. I don't know if you guys pay attention to internet slop but there is a maga civil war right now, and every Republican mom with a magical crystal shop in Florida is getting their minds melted.
I don’t know about this commissioner’s religion, politics or possible failings. But I would vote for him
I hate death threats but I get the sentiment. At least a lifetime of prison for them
