Time To Burn being the interval between the date of first post of an abandoned place in urban exploration online communities, and the date when the place inevitably succumbs to arson.

Do I think it exists? Someone in an urbex forum somewhere must had had a spreadsheet of this.

Should it be a thing? Probably not. Arsonists would make a game out of this.

I'm no expert either but IIRC best practice is to use salting and hashing. basically together with your password is a long string of random characters generated by the site (the salt). the two are combined and put into a a cryptography hashing algorithm to give you a hash. the website only stores the salt and the hash. every time you log in you provide the password for the whole thing again and if the output hash matches the stored one then it knows your password is correct, without ever having to store it in any record.

    Context:
Aristotle and his contemporaries believed that the celestial bodies, particularly the Sun, is made of quintessence (fifth element) to be able to float that high up in the atmosphere. It is not the Sun that is hot, rather its rays having friction with the atmosphere that makes it hot.
Leonardo da Vinci disproved this by focusing sunlight in a concave mirror, arguing that the sun rays have intrinsic heat. He also observed how very hot metal turns white, the colour of the Sun.

I actually nicked the whole idea from Vsauce's short: https://youtube.com/shorts/gNVj-FIxoe4
Just watch that instead, and spot the comment where I got this meme from.

AI slop channels are flooding YouTube to the point that I am filled with dread clicking video thumbnails fearing it would be slop, a time waster.

Then I thought: This is 2026, surely there are extensions that blocks these slop channels from a crowdsourced list, just like SponsorBlock!

I went to Firefox's extension site and searched for "slop" and there are results, but there doesn't seem to be critical mass of users on any of them.

I looked at one with the most users, and the permissions and data requirements are pretty fishy.

IDK if there's one that are more trustworthy and more well-known, that perhaps named differently. If so, a recommendation is much appreciated. Thanks.
