I dumped proton 18 months ago when “andy88” pledged his allegiance to Donald. He wasn’t quiet about it. That’s entirely disqualifying for a tech CEO that’s meant to be a counter-balance to the other big tech CEOs. Maybe Andy’s just miffed they didn’t invite him to the billionaire party after the inauguration.
Fun fact, “Hawaiian” pizza with pineapple was invented at Satellite Pizza in Chatham-Kent, a small town in rural Ontario, Canada.
It’s currently a N100 mini-pc running Debian, but in the past it’s been all kinds of random hardware including a busted old laptop with an expresscard-PCIe riser for the second NIC. Anything can be a router if you know what you’re doing!
Nah, dried apricots and apple rings from the bulk store. And some bits of broken chocolate bars as a treat. One notch above gorp’n it.
Even worse is updating the idrac/perc firmware in a server several hours away, knowing that you’ll get yelled at and have your whole day ruined if it goes badly. If it goes perfectly, nobody will know. Seems like no upside and unbounded downside…
Cool, my first couple batches of edits are live now! Really neat to see the map get more and more correct over time
It's not really though. This just describes installing Termux and some X11 gubbins to make it emulate a linux machine, but it's still running some parasite-ridden Android OS. It would be much more interesting to get it running bare metal Linux with all the creepy "smart TV" baggage removed.
I once accidentally ran over my credit card with my car after a mishap at a parking garage pay station. Still works fine, though it does have some road rash. Lets see an iPhone do that!
There’s probably a bunch of permissions errors, filesystems warnings for cross-filesystem mounts or links, etc. all going to stderr. Linux output streams are a bit odd, 1 is stdout and 2 is stderr. So the command is redirecting the “noise” to null and just printing the actual command output. That would be my assessment, but OP could probably give a more correct answer..!
Yay, London back in the news for being losers again!
That didn’t really stop Canadian dealers from being scummy. I saw a bunch of “used” lightnings that were ~2 mo old and had ~2,000 km on them, being sold well above MSRP.
