Put it this way.. mine also broke, within 6 mths of buying it, snapped a support bar on the bottom, and whenever anyone complains about shoddy furniture, it’s almost certain to be ashley.

I’d never get another piece of furniture from them. Terrible build and material quality.

I built a chicken fence this way.

Hammer staplers are glorious but fucking difficult to get right!

Whack whack whack whack fuck!!!!!!! Hit the fucking wire whack whack whack whack goddamnit whack whack whack

To be entirely fair though I fucking love my hammer stapler and my complaints are entirely user error because hammer staplers are fucking amazing. So much better than hand-grip-activated staple guns.

I’ve used tack nailers as well and they also rock the socks off. Any pneumatic or mecnical driven device, oh boy fun!

Depends if I like whomever made it.. if a friend made it for me I’d get the go-ahead to set it in resin to keep it and ask them for another cookie of regular decoration, cuz that would take a lot of effort and stuff.

If it was made by some rando or a genie or something, meh cookie is cookie even if it is ugly.

I had been brought around to that view decades ago as a result of red dwarf of all things (clip linked below). I was fortunate to be raised entirely without religion, but it was genuinely helpful to have that perspective as an outsider as well.

Its very sad to me that so many lives are lost or ruined for… a set of books (multiple religions) that aren’t even very good, and which nearly nobody has actually read (then due to illiteracy, now due to, often, illiteracy, but just as often, a complete lack of intellectual curiosity. The book doesn't even need to be mistranslated when nobody actually reads it. Just need a figurehead (priest or such) to tell lies to the credulous congregation, and it achieves much the same.

The row of milks on the far left in the cart don’t have caps, and thats plenty for me to agree :)

Edit: the giant box for one pair of rubber gloves is pretty damned sus as well. Mostly because I’ve never seen rubber gloves in boxes like that. (disposable latex or nitrile gloves are sold that way but 10+/box) they are usually sold in clear plastic bags or loose and hanging like gardening or work gloves.

And either the sponges are different sizes or theres just a tiny bit of each one that isn't scrub pad. You can see a thin yellow stripe, and they could be packed on their side as a result (tho the furthest one has a yellow stripe above the green which isn't possible in that sideways configuration), but in that case they aren't cut the same size and are umm very long sponges (the pack looks like it would fit 2 side-by-side lengthwise based on the dimensions of everything else, and that makes little sense with how it actually looks)

Also on the sponges, theres no way there’s 10 in there when its 4 sponges tall packaging. It just doesn't math out. You’d have like a third row of packaging behind the thing for just two sponges?

Not to downplay how frustrating that must be, seriously, I live in a regressive area as well. It genuinely sucks.

What i find works moderately well is to describe programs in ways that benefit those people directly. Meet them where they are willing to be; selfish.

Don't mention the other people, focus on how it could help them and their family and friends.

If you can’t fix selfish, which in this economy you probably can’t, fix framing. Make it all about how much they win from social programs that “they pay for and don't get any of”. Thats getting easier to do with healthcare and UBI, as things get worse and the top few benefit, and they apply to everyone. Don't mention that it helps other people at all. Thats’s a negative to them, just tell them how much less they will be paying, how much their family will benefit with that extra money.

So, sad stuff, my mom died when I was 23, and my dad just passed this week, as I’m just shy of 40. Early and sucks but is what it is.

The sad isn't the point of this, though. The point of this is that I now have both of their thick gold wedding bands. I probably could have asked for them before, and he probably would have given them to me, but they weren't my memory to have yet.

Now that I have them, however, they have proven to be a peak fidget toy for driving. I hate driving, especially long-distance, and I tend to start nodding off because it’s boring af. Im AutDHD, so yeah the falling asleep bit is normal for me, and so fucking dangerous. If public transit was an option, I’d absolutely use it, but it isn’t a practical option (thanks carbrain US, for making me a danger to the people around me as a matter of course.. really thrilled to be forced into this position..)

My mom’s is just big enough to fit my off-hand index finger, and my dad’s is just small enough to not fit over that, but its way too big for me alone. But if I put it on first and then my mom’s, it stays put and jingles around. The noise it makes when I tap my finger on the wheel is so ridiculously pleasing to me. It keeps me occupied enough to stay awake, so I'm not a giant hazard on the road. Yay! Win!

So, what’s your “turns out I needed this all along” fidget?

I’m getting into archiving animated media from all countries from my lifetime and a decent bit before (70s-today, animated includes claymation/stop motion/puppetry i suppose through cgi)

Like I’m currently watching lavender castle. Very enjoyable old thing.

I’m looking for weird shit you grew up on. Bonus if it’s dubbed in English but i’m willing to do subtitles to experience the weirdest shit aimed at your youth.

    Video links appreciated, if available.
