I had friends who were massive Tool fans, and all they spoke about was how great Tool was. Their fanboyism turned me away from Tool without even wanting to give it a proper try.

I wasn't until years later when I no longer regularly saw those friends (we got old-er) that I ended up listening to it, and it turns out I really like them.

If it wasn't for the annoying cult of Tool, I would have had the pleasure of enjoying them much sooner.

I've used a registry editor on Linux before to pull the Bluetooth pairing keys off my Windows partition so I could add them to my Linux Bluetooth config so the Bluetooth device would work on both systems.

Windows is a 32-bit hardware extension and a graphical shell for a 16-bit patch to an 8-bit operating system originally coded for a 4-bit microprocessor, written by a 2-bit company, that can't stand 1 bit of competition

...don't make lemonade - make the Gods take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons, what am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see the God's manager. Make the Gods rue the day they thought they could give Cave Johnson lemons. Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! With the lemons. I'm going to to get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!

And give it to random people, not anyone note worthy. Like, team up with McDonalds to run a competition to win a FIFA peace prize or something.

Buy a Big Mac Meal and you qualify to enter the draw for your own FIFA Peace Prize.

I know this doesn't solve your immediate problem when using GNOME, but if you are desktop curious, KDE natively offers sharing a portion of the screen or even creating a whole new virtual monitor with its own resolution, wallpaper etc that you can share.

So my typical workflow is to have it create a 1080p virtual monitor above my real monitors, and share that, since sharing a full 4k monitor makes it hard for people to read. Then I can show whatever I want on that monitor without worrying about exposing something from my main monitors.

Well, I also don't think the average American who is struggling to buy food doesn't care about the stock market. It isn't like they have any liquidity to trade or benefit from rich people getting richer.

Reading the manual on the way home to get the back story and basic idea of how to play so when you actually started, you didn't have to sit through a 20 minute cutscene and another 30 min tutorial showing you how to jump. Just straight into the action.

There is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic_SysRq_key but I've had some hit and miss success in actually getting it to work.

Normally I first try see if it is only the graphical interface that has crashed by pushing ctrl+alt+F1 or F2 or F3 to try and switch to another terminal. If I can switch, I log in and reboot or restart the window manager.

I also try SSH into the machine if I have another of around.

If I do reboot, then I use 'journalctl -b-1 -e' to see what happened at the time the system froze.

Same. I keep my car and house keys separate so I can leave my house keys in the car and just carry the car key in my pocket. My house keys are just the remote and key to get into my house, nothing else.

My wife has all the other keys in her handbag, including all the spare keys because she can't find the main set in bag, so she takes the spares as well. Sometimes she also takes mine because she can't find the main set or the spare set in her bag (or wherever she placed them).
