As a firefighting disability support worker who has witnessed what families go through on all sides of what I spoke about (which I only said because I can speak with knowledge on the matter),

I have to disagree entirely with your take.

Thing is, you don't care - but it's not about you is it.... The passers-by that witness your body on the floor, after you're ejected from your car. Traumatised for life.

The paramedics trying their absolute best to keep you alive when you're thrown around the inside of your car because you swerved to avoid hitting a kid...

The firefighters that have to try to get you out of your burning, crumpled vehicle when you're wedged between the driver and passenger seat...

Your family, or friends, knowing you've died traumatically.

Your close family caring for you for the rest of your life because a relatively minor accident made you paraplegic .

It's not about you, mate. Any number of things could happen to those around you, because you were top selfish to wear a seatbelt.

I am not trans. I have no trans friends. I am a male in Australia who is nearing 40 years old.

For what little my viewpoint carries in this sub, please know that I'm glad you're still here.

You deserve love, happiness, acceptance and kindness just like anyone else. Please try to see the good in yourself. You are more than just your gender and your body. There are beautiful things about you, whether you're hairy and masculine or tiny and feminine, or anywhere between.

Look for the good parts of you. The parts that are YOU at your core, regardless of genetals and genders. You are worth having around, whether your mind and body match fully, or not.

Yes, and as per the comment you originally replied to - there isn't a moment there where the star appears to "turn on". To put it more simply, a star sort of "fades in". You wouldn't really percieve the fade beginning, in the same way you don't perceive hair growing... Probably not the greatest analogy but I thought it'd help make sense of it...
