Well excuuuuuse me, princess!
post
Link is goals for literally every conceivable permutation of genders and sexualities.
whats it have to do with gender or sexuality i just want a closet that deep. so many clothes.
dont call children twinks, otters, or femboys.
You know, I never thought about how old Link and Zelda are in the games. Never really had a need, of course, but in some games it's made obvious (literally switching between child link and adult link), I'm not sure if it's explicitly stated for wind waker but just look at him... But then, in BotW there's implications of past romance, and this being the last Zelda game I played might have primed me to not think of Link as a kid.
Wind Waker begins with grandma giving you your tunic for your twelfth birthday. :3
BotW has Zelda turn 17, so link is probably around that age as well
Would be creepy if he was 40 and just doing all this to groom her when she turns 18.
Link slept for a hundred years though in BotW.
Looking at box art and other artwork Link always seems to be a preteen or teenager (12-14) in most games. Plenty of games have him smaller then all the adult NPCs and it makes sense considering classical fairy tales usually star children. I don't remember most of Zelda's inspirations right now but Miyamoto was inspired by how he used to explore the countryside as a child. I
The only "adult" versions of link are the ones in , OOt, TP, SS* and the wild games (and the non cannon warrior versions).
However, I think it's easier to sell Link as an action hero when he's a more serious looking adult and post WWs backlash Nintendo seems to be purposely focusing on adult links.
I also think link was also purposely designed to be androgynous so that girls could also connect to him but I may be misremembering the exact quote. Link is also a hylian and hylian designs tend to be very elvish which could help explain why even the more adult versions don't have any facial hair. Elves tend to be more "twinkish" to contrast with regular humans and dwarfs in most fictional settings.
* This needs a better abbreviation
There's literally a distinct "kid" version of Link to differentiate him from the "regular" adult Link in smash bros
I always assumed he was an adult. He lives alone in the SNES game.
regardless of the canonical age in the game, BotW very clearly portrays them as like 20 years old. It's like when anime shows characters having no particularly young features and having been head of the guard for 5 years, and then insists they're 15.
Yeah right lmao, the only reason that age is chosen is to appeal to the kids watching it, and maybe (depressingly) to the audience of adult creeps who prefer the idea of them being young..
Not all versions of link have him aged as a kid, so we can use our own adult brains and assume this one isn't either. Plus, I got called a twink all the time in highschool bro, chill out it's just a meme lol
I think it's okay for the joke, not that I speak for everyone, but I think we have bigger things to be mad at.
These days it's more of a general term that implies vague queerness
No, that's not what twink means.
Twink is slim and smooth, you're conflating connotation with denotation.
And twunk: twink and a hunk, a twink with muscles, but still hairless. A twank on the other hand... twank is no good. That's a twink and a skank. Essentially just a ragdoll being passed around from twink, to twunk, to bear, to otter.
It's very difficult to maintain the lifestyle of a twank-verstile cause this often leads to a lot of self-hatred and denial, especially among the religious or political types, so they try and realign their sexual orientation through therapy.
BotW/TotK Link really went and ruined the reputation of all other Links huh?
Whatever do you mean?
The playing dressup-bit?
That's pre botw, bruh.
https://zelda.fandom.com/wiki/Gerudo_Mask
While wearing the Mask, it makes people think that Link is a woman and causes Gerudo thieves to be a bit annoyed.
Wearing Gerudo-face is a bit more offensive than actual tasteful crossdressing in Gerudo clothing, I guess, but hey, it was the 90's.

I've never played any of the Zelda games. Is this a true description of the story?
