    Flying economy just for fun?

It is just her humble bragging about being rich by cosplaying as a regular person.

yeah, it's ridiculous - but the core messaging is "money insulates you from reality" and that's something these people need to hear.

Every "independently" wealthy person under 35 on the Internet.

Step 1, have lavishly rich parents

Step 2, use parents money and business networks to make money

Step 3, brag about being humble while also flaunting your wealth.

I don't think it's restricted to under 35 and on the internet. I know a 40 something year old that says shit like "my wife and I are so independent and good with our money, we don't get any handouts. The only gift we get is that her parents pay off our credit cards every Christmas" unironically.

Rich people are so fucking out of touch.

  • Lol, fair enough. It's basically impossible nowadays to be comfortable without a little help, even if it's just systemic in nature.

I'm in my mid-late 30s and doing really well compared to most of the people in my age bracket mostly out of dumb luck and because my dad was in the military.

During the last housing market scare I was able to buy a run down abandoned house for 35k after qualifying for a loan through USAA that I really shouldn't have ever been approved for. Just stupid little things like that can really make a huge difference in the long run.

There is a high enough quantity of millionaire/billionaire simps who can prevent this from proceeding by protecting those pieces of trash that this will likely never happen in your lifetime.

You are pretty much one of those simps right now, you are defending the statues quo.

"For fun" as in "for travel" or "for visiting people" which is fun. As in the whole "business or pleasure?" type thing people get asked when flying, I think the majority of folks in economy (and maybe all flight) are travelling for pleasure.

As unpleasurable as flight is, it's typically the best and cheapest option unless not going far or you're lucky enough to have nice rail options. So it's still "more fun" than the alternative which might mean extra days of travel time which may even include you actively having to drive.

This is on par with the Greek stoics, idle rich fuckers who would deprive themselves of luxuries "for a while" ... and then congratulate themselves for that deprivation when they got back to doing their regular idle rich fucker shit.

Linkedin is the absolutely worst shithole socialmedia that has ever been created. 4chan is more down to earth. The idea in the beginning was great. Make it easier for people to create a network in order to get hired. Unfortunately that just leads to the nastiest of asskissing of capitalism in order to get seen.

it's really true. Facebook is bad. Instagram is real, real fucking bad. but LinkedIn ... every server that powers that site, and every "person" who posts on it unironically, all need to be reduced to ash, ground to fine powder for good measure, and then shot into the sun. it's the absolute worst of humanity collected in one convenient location.

It's so confused. "Subway instead of drive" sure, because it's faster and easier. "Flying like a sardine instead of a human" what are you trying to prove?

I'm a 1,90m dude, not particularly slender, bigger than 95% of humans out there. I fly economy most of the time (every time I have to pay for it myself). Sure you don't get a suite, but what sardines are you talking about? It's really not that bad. Get some videos on your phone, noise canceling headphones, and it's just fine. It's really not worse than my own car, space wise.

Get on board a train. Ride that to the airport. Exit the train and board a plane. Tell me you haven't noticed a difference.

It's downright claustrophobic on modern airlines

Oh, wait, not planning, I meant bracing. Silly me.
