am i completely crazy or does the data center obsession only make sense if these companies are operating under the assumption that they'll be used for cyberwarfare?

like the economics fully do not make sense unless you assume you'll have a blank check for maximum utilization in the near future and the only money faucet big enough to meet that demand is in the defense budget. it explains the outright hostility to residents, the secrecy, and the maximalism of it all. but it doesn't seem to be part of the conversation. why?

no you're correct. reddit corp does NOT want to do anything about its bot infestation. even the apipocalypse carved out exceptions for the botnets that make their entire platform function.

bot content spew keeps doomscrollers doomscrolling and pumps up the metrics that they're intentionally manipulating to appear like organic traffic. having their cake and eating it too, even to the very end of everything the platform used to stand for

my favorite classic roguelike is tales of maj'eyal with a(n ancient) dual classing mod installed. my favorite final fantasy is XII the zodiac age. my favorite borderlands is wonderlands (still kinda mid though). i loved baldur's gate 3 and the owlcat pathfinder games. my peak arpg is path of exile with titan quest 2 earning an honorable mention.

what are your favorite rpgs and rpg adjacent games that include in depth, flexible class systems?
