There are a long list of terrible engineering decisions to choose from over the last century of automotive history. I would still put this one in the top five. Mostly because it was really, really fucking stupid.
I actually think this is a much better solution than the current strategy of bulldozing -- literally and metaphorically -- everything and everyone to build giant, power hungry datacenters that are an enormous waste of money and resources.
Old telco facilities are prime locations for datacenters. They already exist, along with adequate on site power and communications infrastructure, and therefore dont require destroying thousands of acres of land or alienating all the local residents.
My boss: "Hey, can you take care of ? Should be super easy."
Me: "... and now the rest of my week is ruined."
Never using their PTO at work.
My experience has been that the people who are most eager to advertise how much they value the bible are usually the least likely to have read it. And they get very upset when you cite it to them.
Too busy blinking to keep their eye on the ball.
Gold.
Over here in Arkansas, I'm starting to think we are tied with ya'll for dead last. I'm not really surprised because Arkansans have a long running tradition of voting against their own interests. But, re-electing Tom Cotton? Seriously?! The man has the personality of a malevolent potato. Even MAGA Republican voters don't like him. But they'll happily vote for him because he has an "R" next to his name. Or because they're fucking bigots. Or both.
We (The US) flat out abandoned many of the people who helped us in Afghanistan. Packed up and walked out, mercilessly and selfishly leaving them for dead. The cherry on top of the giant hot shit sundae that was the "war on terror." This is an extra spritz of whipped cream.
I don't blame anyone who doesn't trust us when we've clearly demonstrated that being an "ally" of the United States is one sided and you will be dumped as soon as we no longer need you.
What a fucking disgrace.
"You may ask, 'How did this meme get started? '. I'll tell you!"
Thinks momentarily.
"I don't know."
You want to know the best part? The meme template is from a film called "Creature from the Black Lagoon".
"John does a great job. He closed more bug tickets than anyone else last month."
Non-important details
John was responsible for most of the bugs.
Its much smaller than it once was but we definitely still have a domestic steel industry. And it currently has more order volume than it can handle and is raking in the profits while continuing to raise prices.
