The $94.3 million, "high-visibility, intelligence-led" Armed Response Command (ARC), which was officially launched on Sunday, was among a range of reforms introduced by the NSW government after the Bondi Beach terror attack on 14 December 2025.

The fascination with following the US down the toilet is a constant source of bemusement and terror.

    It's just intimidation.

Gotta put on a strong show of force for that 3.5% of the population with a gun license.. and the 0.3% that have ever committed a violent offence.

    Practically an epidemic.

Not only intimidated but alienated in your own society.

    Hey WA, NT, SA, VIC.

Could we just cut NSW and QLD off? They're the worst of us. ACT, we can move you to just outside Alice.

Victoria will need to be cut off as well in a month or so if the polls are anything to go by.

It’s not the polls that are the concern, it’s the actual real tests in the by elections we’ve had.

Either way the threats real, and it’s a matter of which of the two conservatives will govern down there.

It's just one unit, a terrorist response unit, not all everyday cops.

and it would be expected a unit that is only activated in an active terrorist attack would be so armed

intimidation does not work on many terrorists as they expect to die any way

but a rifle might give a sniper a better chance to save lives

We have response units, they are rarely out and about like this for a reason.

This isn’t stopping another attack from occurring because it has to be at the right place at the right time.

We don’t need this additional unit, anywhere in Australia. It’s a bad path to be following.

Its not going to deter shit. But it will result in a fresh crop of shitheads joining the force and cops trying to swing their dicks around even harder

It'll be like one enormous prison where only the guards have weapons 🙏

This is fucking stupid, I can see the point of using SMGs, but full rifles?

Way too bulky, heavy and annoying

    EDIT:

I see my mistake, I ment that I can see the point of SMGs in a special situation, like in an active terror attack, not day to day, I am sorry for the confusion.

That's not gonna do anything but tell wannabe terrorists to arm up even more...
