I'm happy happy happy! So excited, my new vacuum cleaner arrived today. I realised it's the first time I've ever bought one! Someone's mum or whatever is always getting a new one so they've given me their old one, and this has happened all my life. It was an impatient few hours waiting for it to charge up but I've been buzzing around vacuuming at night like I did when I was younger ๐ The old one was legendary but actually too heavy and cumbersome to lug around, but this one is much easier.

About 5 months into new role at work and it keeps getting harder the more I learn. Our systems are so broken that I reckon at least half of what the more experienced people on my team deal with, only needs to be dealt with because our system just glitches/can't do a thing for some inexplicable reason, and causes problems and workarounds that simply shouldn't exist.
I do have a great team and lovely team leader though, and the flexible hours are really nice. It's just frustrating and complicated. Oh well. I now have a looooong weekend and won't be back at work until next Thursday. Time to recharge my brain

Still in awe of how effective gradients are in graphic design. Need to put readable text on an image without darkening the whole thing? Just put a gradient over that area. The most subtle gradient has just made white text over a white sky pop. The average person wouldn't even notice.
So on my bus ride to work, I go past Pentridge. There's a three storey house for lease, so I've just looked it up to have a peek, and it's $1,000 PER WEEKโฝ ~$4k per MONTHโฝ
Who has that kind of money for rent? Wouldn't you just buy a house at that point??
I will say though, this house has an internal lift servicing all three levels. Maybe that's part of it, maintenance for the lift? Idk.
I just want to know what kind of jobs people have where they could afford that kind of rent, but not buy a house and pay a mortgage. Maybe a highly skilled, well paid working person from overseas? Where they wouldn't live in Aus permanently, but would leave eventually?
