Trump told Bill Maher not to call him again after the comedian defended their White House dinners while continuing to criticize the president.

It's too bad those two can't get along, because they have one important thing in common: they're both immense douchebags.

Bill Maher is the Chuck Schumer of comedy.

Bill so badly wants to believe he's like George Carlin, when in reality he's more like Gallagher.

I would cringe less having to watch a grown man destroy a watermelon with a mallet on stage, than having to listen even for a second to Bill Maher's self-important, disdainful and gross rhetoric and "jokes".

Bill Maher just tied himself to the cuck chair and then his wife handed him divorce papers while leaving with her boyfriend.

Bill Maher is the quintessential plant from billionaires to be controlled opposition.

Beyond that he's also just an insanely intolerable douchebag with a pretentious rich asshole demeanor. Its a wonder why any average Joe ever liked him or his shitty show to begin with.

Eh, at one point, his schtick of pissing off lots of people did have a certain charm and he was a bit sharper in the past. Is he someone I'd want to hang with? Hell to the fuck no. I'm quite sure he'd be absolutely insufferable and I would think getting high with him would be hell on Earth.

Do I still watch his show even now? Well, yeah. Do I fast forward a lot? Oh lordy yes. Especially when his guest is an even bigger douche bag.

I think "comedians" who predominantly punch down to trans people and then soften to billionaire pedophile rapists simply because it'd be punching up are probably less deserving of a time slot in your week than just about anyone. Cowards aren't very funny, surely there's enough real comedians in the land of free speech to piss off better targets, like Stavros or Adam Friedland.

LOL, all that sucking up didn't really do much for Maher, I guess.

I still watch him as almost a hate-watch, and skip over the worst instances of his guests as they usually have very uninteresting things to say. His monologue has really gone downhill and his nonsense takes on trans and Israel/Palestine is just.....facepalm.

It's like he's someone that absorbed all the takes of the Murc's Law Media from c. 1990s (and the early 90s, before most people started using the 'net, not even the later 90s when the fever started to show signs of breaking, just before 9/11 set things back for a bit) and then just stayed in that mindset related to Israel especially.

He seems to have really internalized the bullshit narrative that being critical of Israel is "antisemitic". What a fucking hot steaming load that is.

Just found out about the 'I Hate Bill Maher' Podcast, where some comedian hate-watches Maher's show and then mocks him on a podcast. The roasting was so much funnier than Maher's attempts at jokes, though I slightly worry that it's a bit like The Necessary Conversation in that it might just be mocking a senile old person for being senile.

I've been loving Books That Kill podcast. So many authors needing a bit of a roast. I might check out the Maher one. I don't care that much either way about him. When I do watch him, I binge watch several episodes and have my fill for a while. Even with lots of skipping forward.

I'm not sure if it's more me or him changing or a bit of both, but I remember kinda moving into the "meh" stage on him over a decade ago, but still watching. It seems to get worse every year, though. Not sure if it really started with the Me Too thing and people like him seeming to concern-troll over the "cancelling" thing. No one is getting fucking cancelled, though, and I'm sick of hearing people like Maher talking about it as if it's a real issue or something. And then after Gaza, JFC. He's one of the ones clutching his pearls over the blue hairs protesting on campus, too, IIRC...he's so protective of Israel, holy shit.

I hadn't listened to anything from Maher for something like a decade by the time I heard the podcast. He wasn't really all that funny then, and really seems to have slid into the blue conservative space since. He has to be running on momentum or blackmail at this point. I don't think he could get a laugh at a comedy club if no one knew his name.

Also, went and checked out If Books Could Kill. It was so painful to listen to I stopped after 45 minutes and gave up. Listening to two supposed professionals saying 'then he said 1+1=3, which is just such horseshit, because everyone knows it's 11,' over and over again was depressing and annoying.

Bill Maher will still get his own private cell in the new concentration camps. Conservatives always get special treatment, even when waiting to be executed.

You know you’re shit when Trump calls you shit and the majority can’t argue with it.

Maher reflects that country as much as Trump does in his own way.

"Centrists" are just useful idiots for fascists. Same goes for "libertarians."

    Same goes for “libertarians.”

I have to say, after listening to Robby Soave shill for fascists while strenuously pretending to be a smooth free-thinking libertarian and not a member of the cult, I've come to the same conclusion as you.

I guess that's his job - being the right-leaning voice on The Hill - but it's honestly painful to watch him each time he opens his mouth to offer a conservative-friendly counterpoint while pretending he's not one of them.
