How long does the treatment sit on your teeth before rinsing?

flouride treatment? it was like 10-15m. then they took out the trays and you rinsed your mouth out. and they told you to not eat anything for 20m so the flouride had more time to absorb, because any friction on your teeth would scrap it off.

toothpaste also has fluoride and the idea is the same.

So you're saying it sat on your teeth for 15 minutes prior to rinsing?

yes, that's how ever flouride treatment I ever had worked... because your in a dentists office.

    toothpaste isn't a flouride treatment. it's toothpaste.

So it's safe to say there is some amount of time flouride should remain undisturbed on your teeth for best results.

    Most toothpaste also contains flouride.

I don't think anybody was debating that. it is nonsense that you shouldn't rinse your mouth after brushing. yes, you shouldn't do it right away, but it's fine after 10 minutes.

surprisingly, I was thinking the same. your conclusion (keep the toothpaste on a little longer) is different than your (flawed) initial statement (don't rinse your mouth at all after brushing your teeth).
