So yeah you can fire a bullet so many different ways, a rusty nail and hammer will do the trick. Isn't the real problem the frickin bullet?

I swear in Sweden or something, you can take a gun home but ammo is only sold and consumed at the range and not for taking home.

Sure, you can make this a hollistic approach regulating guns and ammo, but the ammo seems to be the bigger issue here. You can make guns easy peasy, but ammo is much harder to manufacture and easier to regulate.

I am a big proponent for not giving Visa, Mastercard, and the other fin tech monopolies a dime. However, I use them because the social credit score is almost essential in today's economy and I also get a little cashback for using it.

Today, I came across an establishment that showed a 3% added fee for credit cards and I was pretty happy to see this. If businesses don't want to be cucked by payment processors, provide more options, where it be crypto like Monero or something or just cash payments.

Even at farmers markets, where we have little independent farms and they seemingly don't have a preference or incentive to prefer cash or credit card payments via Square (who, I'm sure takes a cut).

Is there a downside I'm not seeing? Let me know especially if you have further information.

I believe every single time somebody offers to buy tea for me or gets me to go out for tea with them, I get the worst frickin tea I've ever had in my life.

Typically, when I go out to these places, I get a jasmine or oolong tea, which is typically their specialty, and they absolutely bastardize it. Overbrewed garbage, either steeped too long or temps too high, but it just releases sour acidity in the tea. They have the fucking audacity to ask me if I didn't like it because it's "heavy-roasted". It's not because the leaves are roasted, it's because you fucking overbrewed the tea.

Anyway, ofc the general populace gives these places good reviews for their sugary milk teas and thinks it's the best shit ever.

https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/microsoft/september-windows-server-updates-break-remote-desktop-services/

Came in to work today and coworkers were scrambling through event viewer and regedit, doing reboots to no evail. I did a quick search and found windows bunged up our RDS.

Turns out this update was from last week and the workaround was rolling back a version to a 9.8 CVE. Fortunately, Microslop issued an OOB fix literally this morning so we could use that.

Frickin Windows man.

Edit: forgot to add, my coworkers spent like 2 hours asking chatgpt and they were looking in to regedit to fix stuff while it took me a single search on DDG to find out it was a bad Windows update

Did you buy it on Amazon? Can I buy this on Amazon? Can I find this on Amazon?

One of my many hobbies is archery, and at the range, there's this new guy who asked me if he could find some archery stuff on Amazon, because apparently that's the only place he buys stuff from.

One week he's shooting this recurve bow that seems improperly sized for him, then he comes back another week with a compound bow and complains about the draw length being too short. I tell this guy to go to an actual archery website to buy decent equipment since the combined cost of all his current shitty equipment will cover a decent beginner recurve and some additional accessories. He tells me, '"if I can shoot on shitty bows then I can shoot on anything", after that, an arrow bounces off the target and we found out the arrow tip is poorly glued on.

Any of the numerous hobbies I take part in, you don't buy this shit on Amazon. Machined pens, specific airsoft components, balisongs, rock climbing equipment, scuba diving gear, even little fucking resistors on electrical equipment you don't buy on Amazon.

The combination of the easy one place shop for everything and ignorant people will kill people one of these days.

Key takeaway is that I ask all of you in any hobby groups to direct newbies towards places where they can get started in a way where they're not getting garbage equipment that will end up costing them or hurting themselves (and others)

So I'm looking for an area of computers to do. I have always had an interests in networking, security, and servers so hopefully I get to deal with this stuff.

I'm also interested in something with good work life balance and nothing too stressful. Having good mobility would be great so I can travel the world.

Any ideas?
