I gave up on reddit when they banned 3rd-party API access. I use Boost for Lemmy so it looks like reddit minus the karma whores, bots, and general shittiness.

I suppose some reddit users might find the distributed nature of the fediverse too complicated, but honestly I'm not sure if those folks would be much of a benefit to us here.

The odds are 100% he doesn't do it. His M.O. is to try to sue his critics into silence, and when it doesn't work he runs away. Being the president he can get away with abusing the legal system in this manner.

Hello old-timer! I've been using various Linux versions for about 30 years as well. Started on Slackware, then jumped to Redhat around 6.0, then jumped to Ubuntu after the RHEL release. I'm still on 24.04 Mate, but will soon be switching to Debian. I like the Mate desktop but I'm tired of Canonical's ongoing attempts to embrace and extend Linux.

I'm guessing he wants a full-blown war so he can declare martial law to put all the protests down and cancel the midterms. For public safety mind you, not because his numbers are tanking and he knows he would get crushed in a fair election.
