If he phrased this as "affordability is my priority, and I'm not ruling out that the way to assure that is to impeach the President and his cabinet," he could have plausible deniability. But as it is, he's clearly listening to the wrong political operatives.
The gold standard for calling races is the AP. They don't call any competitive race until someone is up by more votes than there are ballots remaining (they say they watch for trailing candidates not having a path to victory), unless polls make it clear that the race isn't competitive. They've got a 100% accuracy rate since 2008, except when counties report incorrect totals.
I've seen rats leave a sinking ship all the time. I've even, bafflingly, seen rats get on a sinking ship. But this might be the first time I've ever seen a rat get on a ship that already fully sank.
Currently there's no legal way for a state to recall their senators. States have tried in the past, but all the attempts were defeated in the courts.
In reality, even with a hypothetical friendly court, there's no way the case would make it all the way through the appeals process before the senator's term was over and they were either voted out or reelected.
Honestly, this is a good thing. It means that no Republican governor in a trifecta state can recall a Democratic senator.
Really, truly glad to hear it. Me too, to be honest, in a lot of ways.
Fair. Kirk did have the preamble to the US Constitution memorized enough to recognize it on sight, so he clearly had a lot of historical knowledge.
He tried that for a while. Not enough sycophants, I guess.
Oh, Nando's! I had no idea what I was missing before. Those aren't in the US, to my knowledge. Haven't heard of Stars n Stripes, though. I'll have to look for that.
Totally agree. Prison for a hundred years for the guy who figured out how to make fried chicken gross. Like, seriously, you have to work at that.
The funny thing is, it was actually invented by a Democratic strategist for the Clinton campaign in 1992.
This is funny, but it's also kind of like someone today being like, "has anyone ever told you that you look kind of like Holy Roman Emperor Leopold I?"
I have discovered that, outside the US, KFC is actually fantastic.
Seriously. New Zealand KFC is amazing. I just had to get basically as far away from Kentucky as possible.
Best I can do is D+70 in the house and a Dem Soc mayor of DC.
