@Deathgl0be Not really to my knowledge as I use many APIs specific to web extensions, I can store data in my extension's database so websites don't break or interfere with it, I listen to media requests, store cookies (even secure cookies) to replay them correctly...It might be possible via an userscript but you would pretty much have to start over from scratch. I am already struggling to make something optimized for PC while still working well on Android, and as I don't have an iOS device for testing (and it would take lots of work) it's probably not happening. Sorry!

An update on my FOSS downloader extension recommended by Mozilla!I just updated to a new major release of Media Downloader Unleashed!!, my #firefox add-on to download audio and video from sites that got recommended by #mozilla !addons.mozilla.org/addon/mediaMainly, a better media list, more supported sites (even those using a wrong file format!), and some fixes and improvements!Changelog is too long for the character limit so you can read it all here : github.com/helloyanis/media-doIt's just out, so there might still be some bugs, so if you want to try it be sure to leave me any feedback! Thanks! Now for the fun part : Since it got recommended by Mozilla, it appears as a suggestion within the browser, which lead to the amount of users BLOWING UP!! LOOK AT THIS GRAPH IT'S INSANE! THANKS SO MUCH!!!? 🧡🧡I guess it's a great reward for making great work!!@opensource#foss #opensource #devlog #web #webdev #mediadownloaderunleashed

Graph of the add-on's daily users (blue) and downloads (red) over the last year.

Over the last few months the daily users have dramatically increased reaching 42370 today, and the downloads saw a huge spike increasing the daily download count from ~60 before verification to 3070 today.

I added Twitter to my extension to bypass age verification!Hi! If you don't know me, I made an #opensource #browserextension for #firefox to skip age verification screens on many platforms!Recently, #Twitter (yes, I'm not calling it X!) sent a cease and deceist letter to #Nitter that allowed you to browse privately. I think this sucks, so now if you want to see an age restricted post you can use my extension to show it! (Still needs to be logged in to an account however, otherwise twitter won't return the tweet data)🧩 Extension : addons.mozilla.org/addon/age-v💻 Source : github.com/helloyanis/age-veriBasically, it works by taking all the data from age restricted posts and re-arranging it in the way that regular posts do!If you're still on twitter (why!) feel free to give it a try, and give me some feedback! Thanks!! 🦊🧡@privacy@programming.dev @privacy@lemmy.ml #ageverification #privacy #foss #web

🎉 My open-source downloader extension is now "Recommended by Mozilla" !Great news! Mozilla reached out and my free and #opensource #browserextension , "Media Downloader Unleashed!!", to download audio and videos is now listed as recommended by #Mozilla !It's a great personal achievement! When I started working on it out of frustration that you can't right click and save videos on Android, I never expected it would reach above 13k users and become recommended by Mozilla!! Thanks to everyone who uses it! I hope it will continue to work and improve for the years to come! ✨THANK YOU!✨🧩 The add-on : addons.mozilla.org/addon/media💻 Its source code : github.com/helloyanis/media-do🏆 What " Recommended extension" actually means : support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/r(Note : If you want to try it on Android, it looks like a recent Firefox update broke downloading, use the Nightly or Beta app!)@mozilla @firefox @opensource#firefox #web #webdev #dev #foss

Opting out of ad tracking : The least user friendly menu I've seen!#Orange , the french #ISP offers you a free #TV box with your internet plan! The catch?Of course, it's filled with #ads .I mean, it's free, you're the product etc, so I get it but I still go to the settings to disable targetted ads, which is on by default OF COURSE, but there's a nifty "Deny all" (Tout refuser) button! But after clicking it, it does NOT disable everything, as most of their advertising partners are set to "Mixed consent" (where "Legitimate interest" data is still on!). That's not confusing at all!So to disable them, you have to go one by one on each of their partners, scroll down, enable and disable the tracking checkbox to disable it. Peak example of unfriendly #uxdesign !Multiply that with the ~100 partners they have, and I spent a solid 15 minutes just scrolling through menus to disable #tracking . At least I guess you CAN do it if you're motivated enough?@privacy @technologie#privacy

🇪🇺 European Citizen's Initiative against ID age verification onlineJust yesterday, Stop Killing the Internet, from the people at @StopKillingGames, launched an ECI against ID age verification! This is great but it needs 1 million signatures !So, if you live in #europe, please sign it! If you don't, or even if you do, still share it around so more people know about it and can sign it!eci.ec.europa.eu/066/public/#/Reaching the signature threshold will not mean that ID age verification will immediately become illegal, but the subject will be brought to the @EUCommission and they'll have to do SOMETHING about it. This is already a huge step in the right direction!:boost_requested: Please boost and share this post to spread the word! Thank you!@privacy #stopkillingtheinternet #ageverification #privacy

PlayStation discs will soon be gone!Wtf #sony ?The #playstation account announced in a blog post that they will stop making game discs altogether. play.st/4v86Wg3This means :- No buying second hand. Once the game is not sold anymore nobody can buy it- Can not bring the game to someone's house and play together, now you need to log into your account- Sony can, for any or no reason remove a game from your library- If you paid extra for a PS5 with a disc drive, too bad, you can't use the drive you paid extra for with games beyond 2028!- Overall, a very slippery slope for ownership.@StopKillingGames 's post on the issue : mastodon.social/deck/@StopKill@games#gaming #stopkillinggames #games #preservation #digitalownership

@UnfairUtan Huh! That is strange, for me it works! Are you sure you have enabled the extension and allowed it to run in private windows if you use these? Is it version 1.0.3?"..." > Extensions > Age verif bypass > Cog wheel > Details

I added Reddit to my age verification bypass extension!Age verification is everywhete, so I'm making an add-on for #firefox to bypass age verification on many platforms!addons.mozilla.org/addon/age-v , source code at github.com/helloyanis/age-veriI just added Reddit to the list of supported sites! It can now automatically remove the NSFW log-in popup when viewing NSFW subreddits. (Yes I know we have Lemmy on the fediverse, but I think it can still be useful!)If you don't have Firefox, or want a more private experience, you can also use a front-end like redlib at redlib.catsarch.com to avoid communicating with Reddit entirely, and you don't even need my extension on that one!(Video shows off the concept but doesn't show any actual nsfw contents)@privacy@lemmy.ml @privacy@lemmy.world @privacy@programming.dev#ageverification #web #privacy #reddit

RE: furries.club/@helloyanis/11679My age verification bypasser extension is now on the Firefox store!I have also added support for bypassing some of ageverif .com 's checks in the meantime! Take a look!Store link : addons.mozilla.org/addon/age-vGitHub link (with details on how it works) : github.com/helloyanis/age-veriTry it on the demo pages of the 2 currently supported services :https://agechecker.ner/demodemo.ageverif.comAny feedback is welcome!@privacy@lemmy.ml @privacy@lemmy.world#privacy #firefox #agrverification #cybersecurity #hacking #tech #web

I made an extension that bypasses online age verificationTo show my stance towards online age verification, I made a small (literally, less than 10 kilobytes) add-on that will completely skip ageverif.net's verification prompt. (Only that site (for now?))With more and more data breaches going on it's important to protect yourself by not sharing unnecessary data, and to show how broken some age verification platforms are! It's #opensource too! github.com/helloyanis/agecheck (more info on why I do it is in the readme)@privacy #ageverification #firefox #hacking #web #cybersecurity

RE: ec.social-network.europa.eu/@E🇪🇺 EU Commission's response on Stop Killing GamesThe @EUCommission has "answered" to the @StopKillingGames European Citizen's Initiative. And wow, it's just a bunch of nothing!Their response : link.europa.eu/r3XhyM- No laws are going to be added- They will be "Communicating with the industry", in order to initiate a "Code of conduct" for killing games. Since it's not a law it's not legally binding- They want to "raise awareness" when already 1 million people signed this, but being aware of the problem won't fix it- They claim they can't add a law because of the rightholders. The initiative only asked for games already sold to keep working, if the rights expire they can just stop selling it!And yet, on their social media, they post a "Game not over" image...I mean, it's better than nothing, but not by much! The next hope is to put this in the #digitalfairnessact , hopefully it goes through!@gaming #europe #stopkillinggames #eucommission

The EU's age verification app can be hacked in 2 minutes. (Found by Paul Moore)Demo :youtu.be/1hfDOhrNx1IIn short :- The pin you set to lock the app is encrypted, not hashed, which means with the private key of the app it could be reversed (there's no need to get that as you'll see in the next points- Once you verify your age, the pictures and data identifying you is not deleted. Although on regular phones you and other apps can't access it as they are protected at the Android level, this is still a breach of GDPR- The app's data is stored in a shared preferences file, which is pretty much just plain text. If you delete the key for your PIN, the app will let you create a new one, and still access the data of the old account.- Nevertheless, the EU still brands it as a privacy friendly option on their site at t.ly/labwFIn short, don't verify your age online! This is really bad for privacy!@privacy #privacy #europe #opensource #cybersecurity #ageverification
