The bots are already logged in. Reddit embraced bot traffic eons ago because it "increases engagement".
Both sides are taking data center money, though.
Here in Michigan, Governor Whitmer (Dem) is all-in on AI, even doing photo ops at (extremely locally unpopular) data center groundbreakings. "Think of all the local jobs" is the supposed upside. (spoiler: there are no local jobs being created)
I used the nicholas-fedor Watchtower branch for a while.
I use Dockhand now (switched to it when Portainer accounced their enshittification), and that has auto-update built-in. So I no longer needed Watchtower.
I believe Arcane also has auto-update, since Dockhand has hinted at their own enshittification a few years from now...
My Plex is updated, and hiding behind a random-long-text-string wildcarded subdomain that (so far) has not been discovered.
My Crowdsec intercepted 5X the normal number of hacking attempts & port scans on October 17th... no doubt from dirtbags trying to exploit this.
Straight to the datacenters. And once they get their five years out of them, straight into to the shredder.
Wouldn't want any normies getting their hands on them, and having ideas of not using whatever subscription cloud computer bullshit they've forced on us by then.
Absolutely. Frontpage stuff like /r/politics has been mostly bots & trolls farms since well-before the AIpocalypse. AI just took much of the burden off the human hand on that rudder.
Anything with an even mildly AI-adjacent topic is a solid 75% bots right now...
/r/nvidia, /r/amd, /r/hardware, etc, etc..
I opted for Dockhand instead of Arcane. It's a whole lot less vibe coded.
Also, switching over from Portainer was easy-peasy. Just stopped Portainer stack, paste stack & env's into Dockhand & start it. Repeat until done. (I did have to replace any Portainer env_file: stack.envs with env_file: .env)
Next thing they'll tell us is that motorcycles are faster than people-powered bicycles...
GOG's whole "thing" is having games be DRM-free.
Even Epic has a decent number of DRM-free games: https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/List_of_DRM-free_games_on_Epic_Games_Store
And PC Xbox is just in the corner eating DRM paint chips.
I feel good to have gotten a 9070XT. I also suspect it's going to be hanging around as my gaming GPU for about a decade...
An interesting gotcha that I don't see universities actually addressing on any of this...
English-as-a-Second-Language students are generally being given a pass to use AI freely. The thought is that proper grammar and writing aren't what's being graded for many papers.
The problem is that they can just let AI write the paper and say "I only used AI for grammar".
