I think it's okay to not find it funny.

I've also known good parents and bad, and probably all of them have days when they're tired and just wishes to have 5 minutes of peace without the constant barrage of questions, many of which have been asked and answered a few times that day.

One of the formulas of a good joke is to take something mundane and turning it up to 11. Hence this post and us parents, good or bad, having a laugh at it; probably for different reasons.

Also I was told my mum felt like Yoda here, when 5 year old me started getting philosophical and asking existential questions..

It had some media attention, the blog mentioned Channel 7. But being the shit sensationalist channel that they are, of course the focus is on generating outrage.

They could've used it to generate outrage on the callous way the government is treating valuable and historically significant collections.. But noo. Too much work. Let's focus on some ugly rust instead.

Vampire was an instant earworm for me when it came out, because I'm a sucker for the Creep chord progression. That, and her energy in the song.

So it makes the occasional appearance in my otherwise mostly metal-dominated song rotation.

Ironically(?) her cover of Creep a while ago was the first time I heard her voice. It did make me go, "Huh. Not bad at all."

Tim probably asked an LLM for a clever insult and it spat out a Pat quote.

Another one liner that still stuck with me was, "why spend billions on foreign military dictatorships, when we can use the money to better take care of the one we have at home?" Some things never change.
