In Australia a lot of healthcare and places are now starting to use ASAB to get around respecting your gender. I absolutely loathe ASAB, because it’s even more bioessentialist than AGAB.

I much prefer the organ inventory approach, which also helps cis people too, e.x. hysterectemies.

I just got my old tablet out and installed Summit. I can see it's trying to open them as websites rather than recognising they're internal threadiverse links.

In this case it's a summit issue, as PyLova, Lemmy, PieFed and multiple other apps I tested all support links.

You generally need to visit a comm once (not sure if apps work) before your instance will know of it.

So for example !historyphotos@quokk.au seems to work from piefed.zip when I visit it, but !texas@quokk.au doesn't, probably because it's newer and no one has 'discovered' it on your instance yet.

    Does !historyphotos@quokk.au work for you?

Edit: Okay, fixed it. I've manually update this post and it should be fine going forward.

LW has some contentious moderation decisions. I generally avoid it where possible.

I have no problems with you saying Nazis should die or laughing at the death of someone shitty. I also honestly have no recollection of ever banning someone simply for being “uncivil” because another mod asked, to the point where I think you might be leaving some of the story out.

Nor do I think you’re a monster, but I do think you could ease up on the hostility a bit.

Anyway I guess, welcome to the instance.

    In short:

Spirit of Tasmania IV has arrived in Geelong four hours late after suffering from a steering issue and requiring a tugboat escort through Port Phillip Bay.

Ferry operator TT-Line said a "fault" was identified "as the vessel was preparing to transit through Port Phillip Heads".

    What's next?

It comes as transport safety authorities investigate a "steering issue" on the second of the new ferries, Spirit V, during a trial voyage two weeks ago.

    In short:

Calvary Health Care has confirmed it will cease IVF, elective abortions, voluntary assisted dying, and gender reassignment surgeries at Newcastle and Hunter Valley Private Hospitals.

The Catholic provider hopes to take control of the two hospitals by the end of the month.

    What's next?

The formal sale is still subject to regulatory approvals.

    In short:

An annual social cohesion survey of 10,000 Australians has found the nation is becoming "more divided" and "more pessimistic".

The latest Scanlon Foundation survey has found mounting financial pressure has left many households unable to pay for essentials such as food, rent or health care.

One in three respondents expressed anxiety about their future, triple the number of respondents who expressed the same pessimism in the first 2006 survey.
