Never was intrigued by this os. Always wondered if I was being somehow biased. Now I know it was just good instinct.
Why so divisive?
Mine will die after 2 or 3 days of suspend.
Just takes a weekend.
That makes some sense. Much easier than I thought.
I'm looking into static generated sites again.. (never created one professionally), how do you handle forms without passing it off to third party?
I have interest in zola but wondering if anyone has hacked it to allow some backend manipulation. I know it kind of defeats the purpose but interested in some minimal backend use cases.
I guess you could pass off to something like backend(.) mysite(.)com
Unfortunately, people are extorted into their products.
Linux tech tips guy opening a .exe file is oddly frustrating to me.
Completely incorrect.
Ha! Well, by a solid group of committed lead devs I guess is my point.

It wasn't really oop that was the problem although it may have provided the plain for the pain as I also didn't like Java much. However, I did appreciate oop in PHP when I went back to it to build a couple sites about 7 or 8 years after bailing from that language.
It's been over 7 years since I finally jumped off that train (pun intended), so it's going to be difficult to boil down nit pics about it but a few things stand out.
Yes it is very opinionated and it seems to want to constrain the programmer to its data entry style of development rather than let the programmer build with code.
I don't think it's just because it's a framework because I've been in other frameworks (outside of Ruby), and it still felt like I was actually coding compared to ror.
The culture felt like I am finding a gem for everything instead of actually implementing it myself.
Like I said earlier, it felt like data entry. But could just be me.
Thanks. That makes sense and settles pretty much all my concerns.
I'll be using garage then.
