More power and value to the open weight models, cool
I don't usually like horror or slasher stuff, but I will watch anything with Linda Cardellini in it.
The Orange Box. Greatest gaming value-for-your-buck there ever was.

I teach in a makerspace and I have to start every new class by teaching the basics of using a mouse and keyboard. It is really hard to teach 3D modelling to students who have no idea what modifier keys or a scroll wheel is.
I miss the laptop generation. The phones are good for consuming they are not good for creating.
Thanks for the explanation. I was so far off on my initial understanding.
Anyone else having problems with PIP on Wayland? PIP windows simply refuse to stay on top for me (Pop!_OS 24.04)
They don't. But they do have a requirement for people to disclose their AI use.
I post a lot of games to itch, and feel like most people are pretty good at disclosing their AI use? You can easily add the non-AI tag and get a lot less slop.
Exactly. And they will use the excuse that the chinese hardware might spy on us, all while the hardware they allow us to buy is doing that openly.
Sure would! But the few times I did try, it fucked with my stomach. Meat is especially rough if your stomach bacteria is not used to it. I don't consider myself vegan, I just don't buy dairy products.
I am Danish and have a hatred for how the meat and dairy industry has ruined my country and its farmland. So more of a political choice, that was handed down to me by my hippie grandparents.
I don't eat cheese myself, so I can't say specifically which one. I came into the common kitchen one day, and he was just boiling a big chunky slice (like from a cheese wheel). His reason was that he thought it would 'soften it up'.
He was a great engineer but an incredibly odd fellow. His entire room was also just hip-height stacks of old tech, laptops, books and boardgames, with only a shallow walking path between his bed, desk and bathroom.
Fields can be dominated by people who are not the best at it - just look at most CEO's.
I grew up with parents who loved to cook and grow their own vegetables - I was always cooking with them. When I moved into an engineering dormitory, I was shocked to learn that absolutely no ~20 y/o around me knew how to cook. Seeing a picture of this plate brought me back - everybody made crap like this.
Also, once I saw a dude trying to boil a whole cheese (his parents were mega-wealthy, and he had never cooked once in his life).
I went to America for the first time a year and a half ago. The biggest culture shock was definitely the horrible infrastructure. Second to that was the amount of dogs that weren't trained at all.
People talk a lot about feeling unsafe in areas like Tenderloin in SF, but being near any of the dumb, giant car traffic made me feel way more unsafe.
I really want to buy the frame, but my old index just keeps going strong. Sold CS skins to buy it back when it was originally released and it was totally worth it.
The performance on linux was unstable when I switched my desktop to linux only a couple of years ago, so i shelved it for a year, but now the performance is absolutely incredible and even more stable than it used to be on Windows. Love the linux VR community and what they have managed to build.
Bazzite seems cool. Used it to set up a game station machine at my workplace and it runs great. My only complaint (and it is tiny, and was quickly fixed by an alias) is the 'rpm-ostree'. For some reason that name is super unintuitive and hard to remember for me.
Honestly, most of those scenes and renders were done on my old shitty ThinkPad T14s. Some of the more hair-heavy ones were rendered on my desktop though (Ryzen 9, RTX 3090, 64GB RAM).
Pretty often you can cut the rendering time by 50-90% by reducing a few settings that you will never notice anyway.
I like to get high, open blender, and just freestyle. Here are a couple of renders:
