As a grey beard, I never touch AI. My job knows it too. My manager accepts it but tells me to keep it quiet.

They put up with me because I spend 90 % of my current days helping the juniors identify and fix flaws from their AI generated code. The company pushes so hard to use AI, but there's always something to fix and the juniors will never get that needed exposure for troubleshooting code.

One of my old CEOs was a millionaire. He walked around in Jeans and t-shirts. I thought it was relatable. Until someone told me that he wore 500 designer jeans and 200 t-shirts....cuz he can afford it

I know its normal to get asked for license, registration, and proof of insurance. But why ask for the registration? When I register every year, the county sends me a sticker with the plate number and expiration date to stick on the lic plate. The cops van see the plate and date right? Plus I'm sure they run the plate when they pull you over anyway. Seems to me they already know the registration status.

So why do they still ask for the registration paper?

I hit a kernel panic after the upgrade.

The fix was easy enough for me to find and correct, out of space in the efi part due to windows dual boot stuff in there too. I removed the old kernel rebuilt and I was good.

I wo der how many people hit that and were stumped.

My 2 concerns to date are

1 just a bad file manager. Its dumbed down for people and I hate it.

2 lack of support for veracrypt volumes.

This is a wing Chung training dummy. Its 50 plus years old. The crack runs down the length of the dummy. It doesn't move, its still very solid, but we would like to seal the crack to avoid further damage.

Our thought wes to use wood shims to fill in the space with wood glue, then use straps or screw down hose fittings to squeeze the dummy together so the glue and shims hold. Then saw off the excess and stain to match color.

Is there a better method or is the above plan stupid? This dummy is special and has history, I just don't want to make it worse.

Update: Thanks for the suggestions. This wood is hard as a rock. I tried a small wood chisel just to see if a butterfly joint was doable and I could barely scratch the thing. I am guessing I couldn't squeeze it tighter around glue and shims either.

Someone mentioned just leave it if its that old....i m thinking I might just do that. I may just fill in the crack them closely watch it for signs of damage as it gets used.

I'm being very careful because this thing has history being used by Dan Inosanto.
