Hi! This is my own daily game that I made recently. You are SheepleDog and we need to guide the herd back together.

That means you are trying to guess the most popular wrong answers to each question. The more popular your wrong answers are, the more sheep you collect. 5 questions and 3 answers each. The actual right answer scatters your flock for that question. So avoid that.

Without real players populating the questions, it wasn’t perfectly straightforward to figure out how to rank the wrong answers. So that part, and the initial bell-curve fitting of your final score are simulated with the help of an LLM tool, for now. It’s not very desirable, but I’m hoping that won’t last long as the game gets more players and bonus questions get answered to generate real human data.

I hope this is interesting to you. I think arriving at the correct answer, and avoiding it while thinking about how people may get the question wrong is enjoyable as a daily game.

Interesting. For stuff like "what's the #1 in category?" it's really "what's the #2?", because that's what people probably guessed a lot of.

How fuzzy is the matching? Like if the answer is Chocolate Chip, how close do I need to be to get credit?

Typos should be fine most of the time, and acronyms and some synonyms should also work. But I'm not super confident about it so I made non-scoring answers not use up a guess in case I fail in fuzzy matching or having a valid answer not show up in the simulated answers.

Honestly you can go to town if you're not saying the correct answer. The timer should be enough to try out a bunch of stuff because I doubled it at some point after seeing my girlfriend struggle typing things out lol.

Fun game. I couldn't figure out if closing the gate is better than letting the clock run out.

It is essentially letting the clock run out as a button. I figured closing the gate could be used if the player decides its too risky to put something that might turn out to be the correct answer, and can not come up with anything else. No point wasting your time.

Unless I'm missing something and it's not working as intended?

That was fun but I accidentally killed my own score because I assumed “whole flock” meant I got them all and I closed the gate. Didn’t realize there were still more, I thought I had the “whole flock”.

This is neat; I struck out big on the first one. I didn't realize we got 3 guesses until I'd already spent most of my time trying to think of something really good for my presumed 1 guess (which obviously I failed at actually doing).

Knowing the correct answer definitely helped on some of the others, though; when you can confidently guess really 'good' answers without worrying that you've stumbled onto the right one accidentally, it's much easier.

It was obvious after I'd made the first guess, but it wasn't obvious up front that the 80 second timer was for 3 guesses, rather than 1 - I think that was what tripped me up. I thought I had 80 seconds to come up with the best single guess I could think of. It was clear after guessing once, though - maybe a skippable 1-question "tutorial" for first time visitors?

As an additional thought, it'd maybe be neat if, after making your 3 guesses, you got 1 chance to guess the actual correct answer for some kind of bonus. It's possible that that would be confusing, though (switching from guessing 'wrong' to guessing 'right' and back again).

Oh yeah that's a good idea. I've seen other daily games go for that. It would definitely be an improvement. Though maybe keeping it as is could make the player come back to do better tomorrow now that they understand the premise fully... Is it evil I'm considering that lol...

That's a super cool game and I wanted to give you a tip. I have wero installed on my phone and I've used it before, bit when I clicked on that option, it only gave me a list of Dutch banks, and no chance to select another.

Great game!

I didn't love the media franchise number 1 answer. I think the question was kinda unclear. Cars and Frozen not being answers was kinda weird considering mercy sales. The number 1 answer is technically media, but maybe not movie.

The last question I was so frustrated by. I thought it was asking how many different colors there were. So I guessed every number to 20 avoiding 6...

Number 1 had a lot of missed answers it should have taken. I think I failed that one. The "simulation" I am using is kinda meh. Optimistically, if enough players stick around we won't need to rely on that. But it's on my list to improve on.

Number questions like that last one I am also not happy about. Those don't really come up on future days. Questions should be better from like nov 4th and onwards hopefully.

Sorry it was frustrating twice out of 5 questions. That's on me.

As a follow up critique, I would like to ask that the the answer "horse" to the question "Which chess piece can jump over other pieces?" on the 28th October should be considered incorrect. I answered horse thinking it wouldn't be correct, as that's not what the piece is called, but the game went and said nuh uh :/

Right. I see where that's coming from. That is a really good answer for this game. It is an oversight by me.

First few days of the game had very suboptimal simulation/question data. The best move by me would be to just remove those from the archive. Maybe I'll do that after a couple more days.

I should say again, thats a very clever guess. You beat me lol.

In round 3 I guessed

Iced tea, knowing the correct answer was probably tea or coffee.

And unfortunately it counted as correct. Oh well, now I know!
