Why in the everloving fuck are you giving social media space to this person.. Please. Can we just ignore and move on? I was much happier prior to knowing what they say.

It has been two years since I did a perfection run on Stardew Valley so why not do it again - this time heavily modded with the most downloaded extended mod pack that I customized even further.

I've also tried to play Where Winds Meet but Stardew has my attention nine days out of ten.

I get that people remember stories and I don't. I have them in my short them "work memory" and others have them bleed to long term memory. That's great! When my 'cache clears' in a few months or years I don't feel sad I just feel.. enriched?

I no longer consider myself to be adept to judge stories. It's just like music. Others might feel strongly about some style but their likes are not yours and might be completely wrong.

This is not to patronize but to recognize your weakness and enjoy entertainment around it. I'm not a native speaker so I have hard time to convey my point but this is a skill to learn not a hardship to bang your head against. All the best :)

I kind of have the same but I taught myself to enjoy the moment to moment gameplay and story progression.

I played through Chrono Trigger and all I remember is that it had an awesome soundtrack, there was a frog dude, cool mechanic visiting the same place in different time period and at one point there was a bridge which probably was important. I spent tens of hours and that's the story synopsis I can muster. I still can tell you that I enjoyed playing the game. Storytelling is only one part of entertainment.

I just finished the game a week ago and it was a nice experience. The story and the characters were completely forgettable and uninteresting but the art style and exploration vibe were great. I too 100% it and the game didn't overstay its welcome. Just a nice casual exploration.

This week I started Tchia which has similar exploration feeling in New Caledonia but lots of Ubisoft style collectables and minigames. So far so good.

I totally get you. There are games that are fun and easy to 100% also there are games that are challenging and rewarding to 100% and then there are games that are so annoying that you are better off just leaving them 'unfinished'.

I completed both Dark Souls 1 and 2 and both had that multiple playthrough requirement but I will not make myself run those steps in DS3 for 7-8 hours just to get those proofs of concord kept. That's just... no.

Past me was much more serious completing games but now days I want to experience many games so I can't be stuck with just one title. Time for entertainment is limited I'm afraid.

I'm the exact opposite of the OP in the article. I love achievements and can call myself achievement hunter. I have even written multiple non-spoiler achievement guides for others. I get a more accomplished and fulfilling feeling after beating a game 100% achievement wise instead of just seeing the credits.

There are of course games where achievements make no sense and games where the achievements feel like 'slop'. Take a look of for example the digital version of the board game Talisman and its list of achievements. I can't believe anyone finds going through those kinds of achievements fun and rewarding.

In addition of the beating the game 100% I find it fun to 'compete' against my friends whether they know I'm doing that or not. Comparing for example Steam achievements lets me do it. If someone has 54/67 achievements I want to have 55.

I love engineering games like that but I don't believe any game will check all the boxes you want.

Like others here I vouch for Satisfactory Trucks and especially the Railways. You can go quite deep there if you want. Drones do the clipping and are bit too easy so skip them.

While not what you exactly wished I'd say give Transport Tycoon or rather OpenTTD a go. While not as pedantic with traffic as you hope you will have a blast of a time doing beautifully orchestrated trains, airports, ferries and trucks/busses and optimizing the routes from resources to consumers.

And to reiterate. I don't believe a game exists that matches most of your wishes. I hope it will eventually!

I used to selfhost Nexcloud in OVH (or rather Owncloud back then) but I tire of the update cycle and now I'm just paying for Hetzner for their Storage Box or whatever their Nextcloud product is called. I love selfhosting and don't mind doing it at work but for some reason Nextcloud was annoying enough for me to switch paying to someone else to update it.
