Disgusting. Have an upvote (even though it's apparently a fairly popular opinion in this post, haha). If you give me such a pizza, I'd gladly pick off all the pineapple cuts and eat them separately, either before or after... but not during!

Why do you think the US made people turn in their gold during the depression and then cease all redemptions?

I thought that was only gold from criminals or certain people, not the general populace.

You were a kid once and everyone else put up with your shit

We didn't ask to be born. Certain people are also better off as parents than others. @BrickEater@lemmy.world never said anything about seeing them specifically "in public" or not. I doubt their comment was, like, a command to all of society in the way you're perceiving it; they're ultimately just saying that they've had enough of the pains that kids and dogs can bring, which I see nothing wrong with.

Sure, I know a lot of projects have been on GH since before MS bought it, but they've owned it for quite a while now, so we really should be seeing better migration out by now, no?

Codeberg is nonprofit which seems more in the spirit of the Linux ecosystem overall. GH is for-profit...

EDIT: All right, all right, I've gotten schooled. Thank you, O wise ones; I didn't realize how much Microsoft literally depends on Linux, among other things. I will proceed to shut up.

Some of these machines literally took 5 minutes to get from boot to watching a YouTube video, and now they can do so in a fraction of that time.

I'm super-interested in helping people reduce e-waste in my community now, and am wondering about how to go about advertising my willingness to help strangers restore their old/slow/Win11-ineligible machines. I wish I got over the fear of OS-wiping years ago!
