I completely agree. I have no artistic skill whatsoever, but I restore vintage cars. Sometimes I need to visualize for the customer how a car is going to look in a certain color, or with different wheels, etc. AI has been SUPER useful for that, because it takes a few minutes to generate an approximation that gets the point across. I cant have an artist on call to just do these things on the fly, nor can I wait for them when the customer is visiting for a half hour or so. Sure its a niche thing, but has been incredibly useful to me the last few years.

Generative AI has incredible implications in practically every scientific and technical field. It's just a shame the broligarchs are force feeding everyone the very worst, most wasteful, most pointless uses for the technology.

I don't need to see an AI summary of a website on my Google results, the link is right fucking there! I won't go to your event if you give me an AI generated flyer about it. I won't read your email or novel if you wrote it with AI.
