By "linked" the headline means that he introduced an undercover reporter to the hitman on the understanding that he could help the reporter with a business disagreement the reporter was having. Help by murdering someone.

This is someone he's worked with and known for many years, by his own admission. Now he claims he was joking. Some people may find that hard to believe.

Hi, I was hoping someone may be able to advise me. I have an old Acer laptop that's a bit delapidated but I thought this would be an ideal chance to try out Linux as the laptop is basically of little value anyway so if I mess something up, nothing will be lost.

I've backed up everything I want to keep and I've written the Linux Mint image to a USB stick. I can get into the BIOS screen by pressing F2 but I'll be dammed if I know what my password is. I'm not sure if I ever did.

I read that updating the BIOS driver should allow me to remove the BIOS password but after a somewhat risky decision to run a driver I found on the internet (Acer refuses to recognise my old laptop so won't provide me any driver files), the BIOS still requires a password to open. Is there anything I can do with this old laptop? Is there any way to remove the BIOS password?

Edit: should have pointed out that the laptop uses UEFI rather than BIOS.

Flicking through Rogue Trader, I found this picture of the old Dark Angels, the first chapter, led by their Custodian, Lyyn Elgonsen. In the original lore, the feast celebrated the anniversary of the founding of the Emperor's first chapter. The Emperor is nominally the leader of this chapter but as he's a bit busy most of the time, Lyyn looks after it for him.

Recently, while traipsing from showroom to showroom in search of a used car for my growing clan, the iconic line from Christopher Nolan’s seminal Batman movie The Dark Knight came to mind: “You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.” And by villain, of course, I mean an SUV driver.

Because, if you haven’t shopped for a secondhand family car recently, I’ll save you the shock: wherever you look, it’s SUVs.

It’s no surprise when these giant cars now make up 30% of all cars on the road and were 50% of all new car sales in rich countries in 2023. The look has been so popular that traditional body styles have been modified into taller, wider frames. Even Volvo, the defining family car brand, now only offers SUVs in the UK. All of which means that if, like me, you want a car under 10 years old, hoping it lasts another five, your options are “tank” and “tank-ette”.
