Yes.

Social media is a tool, as others have mentioned, but when you get down to brass tacks, everything is either a tool, food, or art.

It's a tool very few are responsible enough to use properly, and that causes great harm when misused.

Letting the oligarch class take control over social media was like giving an angry toddler a handgun, except the toddler can be bribed to give up the gun with candy and the oligarchs never will.

In the end, I don't feel it's worth the trouble of keeping around.

See, you guys are awesome, but when you've got your GoPro on in the combat zone, be sure to remind everyone to like and subscribe after every confirmed kill, that'll really help you monetize your channel.

My step mother was a merchandiser for American Greetings back in the 80's and 90's. I was the Easter bunny at a promotional event once.

That suit was a torture chamber. A fluffy iron maiden. The inside smelled of people desperate for air that was not fetid with their own evaporated sweat.

But, a bunch of cheerleaders from my school sat on my lap... Seventeen year old me consider that an even exchange.

    Climate change deniers.

Is climate change bad? Very bad, existentially bad. Do I want it to happen? No. Do I try to take steps to mitigate it? Yes, I put my drop in the bucket and vote for people who support policies that would help.

But we're eyeballs deep in Brandolini's Law at this point and by the time we get ourselves out of the quicksand, massive change will have taken its toll.

I'm not saying we shouldn't take action, but working ourselves in to a spittle-flecked outrage everytime someone says something stupid on social media is a waste of energy when we're already in damage control mode. The battle lines have been drawn for decades and the backlash effect is a very real phenomena.

Economics is going to win this fight before logic and debate does.

It was beautiful in the movie, but as someone who lived through that time, it feels pretty dated these days.

The new look is boring, sterile, and reeks of faux-minimalist wallet flexing. Not my thing either.

There's got to be a happy medium between everything has extra detail and patterns and bad sci-fi set.
