Yeah. Being woke requires you to be aware of what is happening.

Superman just shows up, and says "TIME TO SAVE PEOPLE!!!". But he in general doesn't know anything.

To be woke, he'd need knowledge of WHY the orphanage is on fire. He just happened to be flying around, saw a fire, and saved the orphans.

He'd be much angrier if he knew the orphanage was on fire because state legislatures cut funding to support the orphanage all so some dipship govenor can buy a 6th yacht.

Superman got his start beating up slum lords. That's not a joke. Superman started out as the sort of guy who rooted out corruption. The "aw, shucks" version of Superman is both a bit of a later development (and also kind of the persona that he takes on as Clark Kent)

He’s all too aware. As powerful as he is, he doesn’t have the ability to solve everyone’s problems everywhere all the time. This is a source of tremendous grief for him. That’s the whole reason he’s a compelling character and not just wish fulfillment.

Woke means "aware of systemic inequality". It's been part of the English language for a hundred years, and the definition hasn't shifted much.

When a Republican says they're "anti-woke", they mean that they are in favor of hiding systemic inequality, because they want to preserve it. They're usually using the word correctly, even though they've failed to define it explicitly.

That’s because the current iteration of Republicans rely on a perceived system of social hierarchies. There are in groups and out groups. The quiet part out loud is that inequality is the outcome being sought not some unfortunate byproduct of the system they intend to implement.

During a trial in Florida, DeSantis' officials were actually asked to define 'woke' and, for example, this is the answer General Counsel gave:

"it would be the belief there are systemic injustices in American society and the need to address them."

The horror! Wanting to make things better? Terrorists, obviously, all of them.

The reason they don't like it is because they're the ones responsible for the systematic injustices, and they're in denial about it.

They do, but it's rare because they think it's common sense.

Liberals, leftists, and others maligned by the abuse of the word "woke" also don't usually explain why that isn't a bad thing, because to us it's common sense.

In a word phrase? Echo chambers.

Woke is a brilliant and evil political manipulation tool. As a conservative politician, you never have to state a position on any topic anymore. You just say you're against all the woke stuff and your captive idiots just assume you agree with them. They hear exactly what they want to hear.

The unemployed auto sector worker believes "woke" means Chinese EVs.

The bigots believe "woke" means allowing gay people to exist.

The wealthy believe "woke" means making rich people like them actually pay taxes.

It's a shortcut around actually saying anything of substance. You can get two people whose agendas are completely opposed to both believe that you are on their side because they both accept that "woke" means the thing they hate. And since you just said that you hate "woke", then you hate the same thing they do so they will support you through anything now.

Yeah “Woke” is basically how “Trotskyite” was used during Stalin’s regime. Everyone they don’t like and opposes them just gets the label. It’s a word they can use to give their followers permission to hate someone without having their followers use their own fucking brains.

In the 90s it was “political correctness.” Then it was “critical race theory.” Then it was “woke.” Now it’s “DEI.”

What hasn’t changed is the people spouting off this bullshit- Americans have had 30 years or so to deal with them and refuse to. When the victims can potentially be armed to the teeth, it’s hard not to victim blame.

My one critique on this countermovement is, I don’t like saying “It’s not woke!” Of course it’s woke - woke is a good thing. Woke means “I GET how shit is.”

The implied words by these grifters have been “woke…and being super naggy and preachy about it, and making all white men feel bad.” When I watch a movie like Django Unchained, and see a former slave slaughtering a bunch of slavers, I don’t feel preached to. I don’t get a sense it’s trying to make me feel bad. I just think: Yeah, man, fuck these slavers. I resolve to make the next generation better than them. And also: I’m glad this slight poetic statement on slavery was wrapped into a tense, action-packed, entertaining movie.

They tried this shit with feminism, diversity, equal opportunity, and every other word and term we like. Always inventing some context where all of them are bad. I don’t much like the retreat of saying “No no, this media isn’t woke!” Of course it’s woke! And that’s a good thing! People who hated “woke” need to take the L and wake up.

It's the new "politically correct". Like a good political slogan it means whatever the listener wants it to mean. Political impressionism? Conservative groups knew they hit the jackpot with PC and have been trying to replicate it for years. "Social Justic Warrior" flopped, too wordy. "Woke" really worked for them

    1. Kryptonian by birth though one can argue him being found and adopted by the Kents might make it moot.

I think we should take back control of the term 'woke'. Be woke and proud. Have blue hats with WOKE on them, stuff like that.

The MAGA's have made 'woke' a bad thing and they are controlling the narrative around it now. Originally Woke was a positive word. I think we should go for reappropriation.

That'd be cool, if people started astroturfing the word so hard: hats with "WOKE" and a really cool eye logo, mysterious-looking, or even the Illuminati one, to confuse people. Spam memes and posts that associate the word with cool random shit that don't have to make sense.

Call GTA 6 woke, or whatever game MAGA loves woke, and do it convincingly there, it pisses them harder. Creative jokes that are subtly aware of the absurdity of how that word is used. Whenever they call you woke, or mention the "woke virus" just counter it with goofy shit, be proud of it, say dumbass embarrassing cringe shit on purpose, that the woke disease enlarges your dick and gets you laid with babes, you cannot stop drowning in pussy since you got it, unlike incel MAGAs who still have to watch people like Andrew Tate and cucks like Sneako because they are secretly gay. Republicans keep tanking Grindr for a reason. Be hypocrite, play dirty, do not give a fuck, be impossible to offend, and be incredibly offensive at the same time, even if you "betray" some of your beliefs/convictions, like sounding homophobic. You are not one, but you are doing it to be like a "mirror" to them for fun, say shit they cannot escape from like economic realities, I have mentioned so many in my comments already. These are the things that drive them mad, and it's super IMPORTANT that you leave them with blue balls too, do not feed them too much, use 2 or 3 replies, let them know you got bored of them or that you only take people who made more money than your religious nutjob average baby boomer made seriously, not broke bastards like them who keep crying about RAM prices, AAA videogames rising their price by 10 or 20 mere bucks, housing or healthcare costs... Mostly focus on shit they care about, which is usually videogames and getting laid. Attack that shit while blaming the system, so they are forced to look up.

You know who you are, you are doing it to shut them the fuck up for good, and for that you have to be more cynical than them, act it up, smile harder than they do; it isn't hard if you really hate them like I do. Don't let it consume you either, take breaks, do it only if it makes you laugh, not stress or piss you off further, turn your anger into something funny, while bullying them. They are literal pedophile apologists, Jeffrey Epstein Class supporters, cocksuckers with 6 teeth who applaud Nazis with 6 yatches, like Elon Musk. I was just a teenager and I became anti-MAGA hard when the "grab them by the pussy" scandal happened; I am a Mexican living in Mexico, that shit made me hate MAGA with a passion, and to see so many of them still around over a decade later, like, fuck that shit, bro, they know what they are doing, they know who they are too, and they are racist disgusting pieces of shit that only stagnate Humanity. I despise that they are expanding globally, there are Mexicans who glaze MAGA here; lots of Europeans who watch Asmongold, seeing Venezuelans applaud Trump for what he did to Maduro, even if he sucks, I know that, is blatantly obvious what is happening, it's so sad, but god damn it, someone has to first slap them really hard with offensive shit, and then they can potentially become more susceptible to adopting our ideas, because the fence-sitters will realize that being MAGA actually fucking sucks. They need to feel pain to reach that point, though, we all did reach ours by seeing constant injustice, constant pain being laid upon the innocent, that shit is painful. Thing is, being born with a degree of psychopathy or any of the Dark Traits is not as uncommon as people made it seem for decades, it's not very rare, I actually think absolutely everyone has some of each, from 0 to 100, same with autism; I don't think absolute 0s or 100s are that common, we are all in-between, and it can be swayed, influenced, so, we have to be aware of that imo, it can help a lot, to analyze things from an outside perspective, less emotional, more rational, more fair to human nature, it's a mess. My brother has down syndrome, and it's so easy to make him do anything you tell him to do. To imagine that, a lot of people also have a different level of malleability, including myself, I have fallen for so, so many hoaxes online, and still do, but, once you filter everything through "everyone deserves to live. Human nature is our biggest obstacle. Humanism, wanting to see people in their full potential, is an exciting prospect" and more ideas like those, the easier it gets to spot the bullshit.

That's what they deserve, that's the language they speak: might and humiliation, trust me. AIs might tell you that we have to be nicer and shit, avoid violence, focus on voting, the law, jailing, educating people while being nice, but never forget who programmed those shits. Truth is, some people do need to get spanked to learn. You know how to measure that, you can be nice when teaching things to people that are genuinely curious or lost, but the MAGAs I am talking about, which is now the grand majority, are far beyond redemption already. They are openly proud Jeffrey Epstein Class supporters and pedophile apologists, genocidial, disgusting in every fucking sense. Never. Forget. That.

100%, it just reminded me how a lot of right-wing people did get mad that a new protagonist will be a brown woman when the first trailer came out, and also a dude who thought the "Petty Forever" sticker in the last frame was a jab at LGBTQ communities, but it's actually the name of the soundtrack's singer they used, lol

They are so god damn stupid. If you ever hear someone say they miss old videogames because they weren't political or "woke" or "feminine," just go look at any top 10 sellers of the early 2000s or 90s, they are mostly Pokemon, the sims, final fantasy, nintendo games, etc. It's so easy to mock them if they think sports games, cars and war games are manly; just call them gay for enjoying playing with men, sweaty men bouncing balls and touching each other. Collecting cars is like collecting handbags and shoes. They don't fantasize about being Master Chief, they fantasize about having sex with him, with muscular strong men they always glaze, because they are in the closet. They used to call Nintendo games for "babies" and "women," so, if the script flipped there, flip it back, who cares, lol. Whenever they complain about a protagonist being a woman, ask them if they prefer to stare at male ass or what.

When they attack women of color, like Lucia from GTA6 or Saga Anderson from Alan Wake 2 (I once argued with a moron in YouTube that said it was impossible for her to be black because her grandpa, Odin Anderson, was white; that them, the devs, casting a black woman "ruined immersion" because of that. Dude was trying to justify the blatant obvious racism I pointed out, and he just made it worse, he never stopped doubling down). They cannot tolerate Abby from TLOU, they glaze Joel who was a mass murder and a massive piece of shit too, as it was revealed in the level "Pittsburgh" of the first game, here's the wiki's summary: "Over the years, the pair (Tommy and Joel) survived by descending into a sinister way of life. Joel deceived and killed innocent people, becoming a hunter. He adopted tactics such as tricking passersby into thinking he was hurt so he could ambush them when they let their guard down." The game is simply trying to show you how complex people are, but these guys just can't see it at all, like, they don't have to like Abby or hate Joel, no, but at least understand what is trying to be told. They make it sound as if the devs were malicious and just killed Joel for "no good reason" or because "woke." Joel Miller and all the Texans or young men who feel like they are a Joel Miller can go kiss my hairy ass. He is no different from any of my local Mexican narcos or mafiosos, man, they are all family people, they are all very charismatic in private with their friends and family, including their own "Ellies", daughters, sons... Does that mean I should glaze them? Fuck no. What the fuck?

They glaze Walter White who killed millions of innocent people with drugs, while they hate Skylar for reacting with disgust to THAT. Like, come on. If Walter was so smart, he would had made the money doing something legit, chemistry-related, or work with Elliot, whatever his name was, swallow his ego, but he was a narcissistic moron, and so are all these dudes who also glaze the American Psycho protagonist and shit like that. Their ego is the most insecure and fragile one, the more I keep seeing small things like these, the whole Stellar Blade movement where they submitted their real identities (some did it jokingly, but a lot were dead serious), the more you realize how dumb they really are, and not just in videogames/media literacy, but everything.

Okay to be fair never done it myself, but I thought of it often when some democratic country made decisions and ... What with the big S think? I would not want to be on the side of that 'democratic' country, and lets me understand their actions suck balls.

Yes I know it's fiction but when the best hero you can think of does the opposite of some country's actions, what can you think of such country?

See, that's the secret. Truth and Justice were always a fairy story sold to keep the workers working, it's always been about the rich and powerful getting theirs and fuckin' keeping it that way, for the entire 250 years.

It didn't suddenly become what it is, it suddenly became a lot less subtle about it. Trump is a braggart above almost all else, he can't help but prop up his fragile ego whenever the chance arises. Thus, what used to go unsaid is now, "Look what I did!, Look, please! I agree with that, but this pretext is the reality in superhero stories. Cops are portrayed as the good guys, and superheroes collaborate with them if anything.

Cops and superheroes share this; They fight crime. And so if we imagine a child reading superhero comics, they will most likely think; I also want to fight crime! And who in our society fights crime? It's the cops.

Superheroes are a constructed reality to turn children into cops.

woke by definition doesn't have a definition. It's all the things that the lib-left does that the right doesn't like, and that's it. Any time we do something that they deem 'too far' or 'too ridiculous' they just label it as woke and stop thinking further. It's a method of other-ing that allows them to not have to think about their bigotry.
