Also their history is wrong:

When reddit refugees flooded Lemmy, they filled it up with “libshit”

The regulars at .ml, lemmygrad and the developers themselves saw this takeover as a threat (despite telling Reddit to come join) and to even out the field of all these liberals, they brought in Hexbear.

Hexbear opened up their instance for the rest of lemmy, with the sole purpose to troll and ‘purge the libs.’ But that means liberals can also wander into their instance.

Within 24 hours Hexbear defederated from all the instances they wanted to troll because a bunch of clueless liberals asking questions was too much for them to handle with multiple members of their community having ‘panic attacks’ -- I was in their Matrix and discords at the time (still am), and they were legitimately freaking out.

So no, SJW didn't defederate, Hexbear defederated from all the others. There was also no evidence of any of this bigotry either. There were also no mentions of Palestine at the time, either, considering this happened prior to the conflict and again there is no evidence.

I all but guarantee that it was misconstrued information or a set of accounts that have long since been abandoned because they’re right wingers and fascists posting against a torrent of liberals. Like four conservatives out of a thousand users. Compare that to every third hexbear user being utterly intolerable. !conservative@sh.itjust.works was where they congregated, until the space improved

日 Nakoichi [they/them]@hexbear.net op c * + 5 - 15 hours ago Or you could just leave the Nazi bar. shitsjustfash was federated for about two days with hexbear if I recall correctly and in that time we experienced dozens of their users posting: ableism, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, racism, literal Nazi apologia in the form of the "clean Wehrmacht" myth, downplaying the genocide of indigenous people in the americas and the ongoing one in Palestine. So when they claim that we are denying a "genocide" of Muslims in China (there literally isn't one and they don't actually give a fuck about Muslims) it would be funny if these people weren't all over places like piefed too and trying to ensure that nobody from anywhere like here can actually provide any counterfactual arguments to their Nazi propaganda. And you. Yes you yourself, are all over here spamming your little copypasta trying to defend this decision and the BEST you can fucking do is "oh hmmmm I'll look into it by asking the literal Nazi mod of shitsjustfash if they're a Nazi, I'm sure they will be forthcoming and honest"

IMHO tankies and fascists are all just different flavors of the same authoritarian apology

I assume you're posting because you want people to see what you post. (Otherwise why would you post?) So I was just giving you a helpful suggestion that most people won't read an ultra wide screenshot. The majority of web traffic comes from people on mobile devices. Even in landscape view it's way too wide to read reasonably, and essentially no one is gonna run some image to text processing on some random post.

If you're interested in people seeing what you post then i would suggest either making the browser window small before you screenshot it, and/or copy n paste the text into your post.

    Just a friendly suggestion

Yeah, I don't get it. I just turned my wrist 90 degrees. It didn't seem like a big deal, so I thought maybe my client is just awesome. Opened Lemmy in a browser, same thing. If my old ass can figure it out...

Is your screen 14 inches tall? Even in landscape mode you'd have to flick the screen back and forth and back and forth and back and forth...

Blorp on my phone didn’t like rotating at all. It skipped 37 picture posts ahead every time I tried.

I think I’m understanding this comment correctly. There’s a known bug with Blorp where the feed skips around when the screen size changes. I assumed people wouldn’t change their screen size often, but this long image is actually a great reason to rotate your phone.

I don’t have the bandwidth in this release, but I should work on stabilizing it so it doesn’t skip around when you rotate.

Pixel 7, Boost app, I click on the image, rotate, and it's quite readable. Firefox was basically the same.

I guess it would be different if my near sight was bad and I do sympathize with people that are having trouble. Maybe it's not a bad thing to encourage more narrow screenshots or, as in the case of many communities, encouraging textual captions for images.

Ask me again in a couple years once I'm past 50 and I may have different answer.

All major human rights organisations in the world call Gaza a genocide.

Can someone link me just one which calls it the "Uyghur genocide"?

"Genocide is the wrong word to describe the horrors in XinJiang"

Wow great job on that one. You found the word genocide in a link in the 160 page report and it proves my point.

A link is not a claim by Amnesty by the way.

The 160 page report also does not contain Amnesty using the term genocide.

It only contains the three links which you pretend are evidence because you know you are utterly wrong.

Is there even an accusation of the crime of "Extermination"? Which is basically genocide without proving intent. That is what Israel got initially.

Is your argument legitimately over the usage of a word? You won't even entertain any of the human rights abuses because it doesn't contain your safe word? That's not how literacy works.

Okay, well, the term "violation" is mentioned 80 times. "Abuse" 24 times. "Detain/detainees" mentioned 721 times.

Yes words have meaning. Guantanamo Bay is also many human rights abuses but not targeted extermination of an entire group.

Thank you for conceding the argument. I agree with the second paragraph of your comment.

I don’t think the Uyghurs being forcibly surgically sterilized care what vocabulary word you use. They know they are being systematically exterminated, and so does most of the rest of the world.

I'll concede the argument that Amnesty only references the word "genocide" three times in their report, if you concede that China is imperialist with human rights abuses and putting Uyghurs into internment camps. Which you should agree is occurring, no? After all isn't your argument It's not a genocide, it's just human rights abuses in an internment camp on the basis of their ethnicity.

Otherwise, you should be aware that this community has rules regarding revisionism and apologia, and denying the treatment of the Uyghurs falls under violation of these rules.

Amnesty used the word genocide zero times in their report. Unless you count text in a hyperlink as a word usage.

Do you have any actual evidence, or is your entire argument limited to hoping nobody fact checks anything you say?

Plenty of warning and you kept doubling down. Please read the rules. Your ban will last 24 hours for apologia and revisionism.

Tankies can explain their views but may be criticised or attacked for them. Any slight infraction on the rules above will immediately earn a warning and possibly a ban.

You’ll be warned if you’re violating the instance and community rules. Continuing poor behaviour after being warned will result in a ban or removal of your comments. Bans typically only last 24 hours, but each subsequent infraction will double the amount. Depending on the content, the ban time may be increased. You may request an unban at any time.

If you read the amnesty report you quote so much, you'll know that it was on grounds of ethnicity. Regardless, religion is just as bad.

There's also no such thing as 'supportive' imperialism, and you're also ignoring Tibet, China in the Southern sea and the Belt and Road initiative

Wow what normal human behavior, Ctrl+Fing a report describing an ongoing genocide and instead of seeing the systemic and targeted human rights violations and becoming upset at the flagrant devaluation of human life, you go winging on about whether or not it technically is a genocide or not, and throw in some whataboutism as a red herring. Very normal human behavior that doesn't scream tankie at all

Not someone, an admin. I can see all votes (you can too using different forks), and this is the only time I've publicly called attention to it because db0 is an admin, instance owner and moderator of !yepowertrippinbastards@lemmy.dbzer0.com. Which, mind you, is a community that is dedicated to interrogating people -- Honestly couldn't resist the chance to test that hypocrisy.

It's alarming for them to be supportive of tankie talking points.

Calling all human rights organisations tankies because they do not call it genocide does not really work. You just agreed with this point down below.
