So they support the bad guys from star wars and a trans Malfoy? I find it real hard to understand the brains of these chuds, is it just rage baiting? Is the trans hatred projected self loathing? Seeing these "memes" and reading the opinions of these "influencers" is like a portal into the cringe dimension. Fascinating to look but I ain't getting too close.

I have never seen any of these memes before reading this article. What surprises me is that anyone would think pictures of Darth Vader ruling the galaxy would make anyone vote republican? Wtf is the message here - evil should win?? Malfoid makes even less sense.

The Malfoid/Anakin stuff is incredibly weak. It isn't even basing their entire political identity on a joke subversion fan theory - it's just the right shitposting trolling itself and liking it.

In the end, Anakin is a comically evil character who happens to suffer from being evil, but he's still evil. He kills those younglings. Malfoid is especially funny for right-wingers to embrace because it's effectively a trans fantasy situation that puts them as a sub in a D/s relationship.

Overall, the memes seem to be right-wing edgelords asking, "Well, yes, we're the baddies, but what if we enjoyed it!?" And the answer is...you still suck?

I'm not surprised that Musk doesn't get or need any level of irony deeper than "look at my cool AI generated picture of Anakin," but I'm glad it turns out that it doesn't seem to have legs with any redeemable online communities.

Anakin posting? I have run into Malfoid a few times online, but had no idea they'd dug Anakin out of the cultural bin to meme (a pretty good sign that it hasn't percolated out from their circles).

The mistake the conservatives made two years ago was thinking that they'd won anything or won over anybody. They hadn't. And i think this article gets right that their echo chamber reinforced that idea they had won everything.
