I don’t think either party will get me to my ideals of abolishing clocks and jobs.

But I know which one will make people’s lives better so I’m not bothered by them.

Yep, people need to be told over and over that elections aren’t an opportunity to get a best friend, or a perfect candidate, or to get everything you want the nation to be - it’s a chance to repute the bad actors that are up for election, it’s a chance to get closer to your goals, to improve enough to clear brush so you can see where your desired path can lead. There has never been a perfect candidate. There has never been progress that hasn’t been reversed somewhat or somewhat imperfectly implemented. Do what you can, don’t let “perfect” be the enemy of doing good.

I don’t even think things will get better. At this point I just want to be left alone.

Instead my mailbox is full of even more garbage and texting is basically unusable.

Better definitely won’t look like we were promised or like we thought. It might not ever get better, that’s always a possibility, but there’s a chance it will - and the only chance we have to make that real is to act like its a possibility. If we act defeatist, we guarantee that outcome.

I’m cool if we return back to homing pigeons. The only mail you get is from your own pigeons, and only when you send them out to someone you want to hear from.

    I know.

Streaming was supposed to be better than cable but it’s not.

Cable was supposed to be better but it wasn’t.

All of human history is solving problems only to create worse problems.

Which is why I want nothing to do with any of you.

You are on a social media site to say you want nothing to do with people. Kind of odd.

Which is everything wrong with “representive” democracies, that they don’t actually represent voters wishes. Being unable to vote on what matters to you means we are left with imperfect choices.

Local elections do a lot of that. Citizens United pretty much guaranteed we won’t ever get that on the federal level any more to any appreciable degree, without a massive referendum against both major parties. Problem is those referendums usually end in more fascists with control. That’s how power vacuums work. Always have. Fascists know that, too, it’s why they appeal to the masses and especially the downtrodden and working class, and ask them to pick up pitch forks and torches and overturn the system - so they can then use the power vacuum to assert control with force, armed force, by putting down the revolution they started.

Fascists have mostly used the political system to gain power. Hitler took power legally, as did Mussolini. Franco is the only one who took power during a collapse of government and civil war.

Can you point to specific examples of referendums leading to fascists having more power? Seems a very bold claim to be making.

Yes, power vacuums exist within political systems as well, and fascists absolutely have just worked within systems that function as intended with the help of capital capture thanks to corporatists loving the policies and strong armed nature of fascists.

There are two times - now, and not now. The future? Not now. The past? Not now.

    30 minutes? Not now.

    30 seconds? Not now.

The words you read that I have typed? Not now.

Now, is, the essence of reality. What does that make not now? Not now is the essence of how we perceive reality.

Feels good to know you're not alone doesn't it?

There's more of us around, just a lot of people don't feel comfortable speaking out against Big Time.

I mean, if you really wanna wild out, you don't even know that I was generated by human or human mechanisms.

All I am to you is light that your brain has translated into words with meaning and structure. That light is emitted by electrons passing over neatly arranged molecules. Those electrons are reptesented by ones and zeros in a software and hardware stack - a display driver, a network card, ethernet cables, fiber optic cables, several sets of these. They ultimately connect to the lemmy.world instance computer that has those same magnificent connections to my device that I am digitizing thoughts onto.

Am I real? Im only as real as you, or any other user on this site. The reality is, everyone can be considered a bot.

    Except for you.

I think .ml is a bit more of a Chinese botfarm given how vociferously they respond to anything critical to China than anything else.

Plus nowadays from Israel and Russia to India and China, more accurate pictures would just be racks of botnets probably.

Idk. They could actually be tankies. Doubt it, but could be.

Regardless, I still wonder who they're trying to convince that the CCP style of authoritarianism is a good thing. Like half of us are autistic here so at least half of us are just going to reject their statements based on how they words things alone.

Sadly because some percent are those who did in fact drink the kool-aid as you first suggest. Even if they convince some sliver of a percent in vulnerable positions to think up is down and wrong is right, well, then it paid off. They wouldn't invest so much in it if it didn't. It sucks.

Mind you I'm very critical of my own government. This isn't about some pissing contest.

We as humans should all strive to just be better and cohabitate democratically, equitably, sustainably.

Because Russia proven to be hard to protect as the war goes on, China is just easy win for them. The same goes to Palestine, it's a very easy side to take, but when we take the same perspective to Russia we might see a lot of 404.

Since the genocide of palestinians does not affect their countries much, it is an easy issue to use, to flag themselves as being on the good side. That makes pushing propaganda easier, since they have at least one good point, so left-leaning people will start with considering them more likely allies than not. Also blaming someone here for supporting genocide is an easy way, to get people enraged, so they use it also as a derailment tactic.

Never see her supporters once raise her in any comment ever save for the final weeks of an election cycle lol.

Maybe she should run for Congress or something, but then I guess we know how that goes given Sinema's Green Party past too, eh? That bait-and-switch probably wouldn't work again amirite

Let's think about this. Are you saying you're not one of hers?

And yes, I can link to replies I just got yesterday of 3 time stein supporters here.

so were you lying about her supporters not talking about her? she's not even running this cycle and hasn't been running for 2 years, and can't run for president for 2 more years.

Exactly. Her supporters don't talk about her and she barely does anything of substance in between.

I'm glad we're moving along past the original goalpost of claiming I'm not around alleged Stein supporters.

So yes or no, are you a Stein supporter?
