I don't care. These assholes voted for him because they wanted him to hurt people they don't like.

Fuck them.

‘I think the devil got into him,’ says the hairdresser Celia Salmerón, one of the voters who will change her choice in the midterms

I mean I agree with her. Not on the timeframe probably, but I agree with her.

You ever see that episode of The Twilight Zone where a burglar dies and gets sent to Heaven? And there he gets everything he desires at all times with no effort or risk forever? And he quickly goes insane out of boredom and realizes he's actually in Hell?

I feel like that's the life of the devil sitting on Trump's shoulder.

Someone needs to rewrite a version of "Sympathy for the Devil" based solely off every horrible thing trump did, ending with a line about how the devil himself never did any of those things

So... once he starts doing things they like again (or they are propagandized into thinking he did), then this excuse will be dropped. "The devil was purged from him and he is back on the right path."

These people aren't worthy of the benefit of the doubt.

see what we need is a dumb racist piece of shit with the same policies and actions that somehow don't lead to their obvious results, the harm he inflicted on me is just a unlikely personal betrayal

ah good a new individual one of these guys, hooray, 100% support, this will go great

haha these leftists are so mad at New Guy their predictions are so silly

I really liked "Memnoch the Devil". Anne Rice was going into her Christian phase and seemed to be trying to reason out who Satan was, how he got there and what he was trying to accomplish. Weird enough, it's as close to logical as I've seen regarding that theology.

Dunno, been a long time since I read that. May not hold up so well.

You agree with what exactly? That some evil, metaphysical being possessed Trump?

What a load of bullshit. Conveniently shifts the blame away from him too.

This is why I left lemmy and question coming back. Autistic robots can't read anything into a comment or post but the most literal meaning and are always looking to wedge an argument in.

Hell, I argue a lot, but I try to respond to the gist of what the writer was trying to convey. Sometimes I fuck it up and have to apologize, "Sorry, misread that."

And here you are, in a space like this, thinking the comment's author actually believes in Satan. 🙄

The guy basically did everything but actually say "I hate brown people" and these geniuses voted for him.

Welcome to the anti-Trump club, but you're still an idiot.

Wow. They finally took down https://www.latinosfortrump.com/

    After only ELEVEN FUCKING YEARS

Let’s revisit that magical time when the faces decided to support the leopards-eating-faces-party:

They only sang their desire to deport you all for being brown, even if you were born here, from the fucking rooftops. So how could you possibly know it'd turn out like this?

‘I think the devil got into him,’ says the hairdresser Celia Salmerón, one of the voters who will change her choice in the midterms

Honestly I'd feel safer if this person didn't vote at all. I don't trust them to not change their minds again, much less be able to tell which party is which on a ballot. Do they even know that Trump won't be on it?

There are folks who are fine with inflicting hate and hardship as long as they get to be on the instigating and laughing side of it.

In this case that type of person is excluded from their chosen festivities because of their culture and skin color when deemed not currently useful...which is all the time for white MAGA. So MAGA feigns tolerance to dupe the Latino vote, but that move has a very long cooldown period.

but you knew that before you voted for him, so the question that really needs answering is why did you deliberately choose the devil? is it that you hate LGBTQ people so much you'll side with el diablo?

I usually explain people voting for Trump on having evil intentions. But evil alone cannot explain Latinos voting for Trump, that must be a special kind of stupid.

Assume ignorance before malice. Far more people are simply idiots than are evil. Idiots just happen to be really useful to evil people.

People vote for demagogues because they're scared, and the demagogue offers a plan. They don't see that they're scared because the demagogue frightened them on purpose, and they don't see that the plan won't work. They see something that scares them and someone that offers to fix it.

Democrats are horrifically bad at this. They've been on defense since 1998 and only barely got ahead for a few years at the beginning of Obama's first term. They haven't caught up since.

Yes, exactly. "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity."

In 2016 people may have been stupid. By 2022 they knew what they were getting. Hence malice.

53% of Americans read at a 6th-grade level, or worse, so there's that. Because you're in a space like this, and/or actually read the news, don't assume everyone else does.

Talking to a good friend about Trump's clear dementia:

"Yeah, but Biden was pretty bad too, wasn't he?"

That's from a young black man who's anything but MAGA. And he's friendly with his Trump-flag flying neighbor!

Ignorance is why it took gas prices to turn the population. It's the one thing you can't miss unless you make plenty of money.

They think with their heart and they are passionately religious, which means they are often prejudiced toward the minority groups that religion persecutes.

They also confuse socialism as an economic system in a democracy with the use of it to control the public in nations they may migrate from.

Unfortunately in pretty much every way, they operate under conservative tenets. Religion is a huge problem.

Pacific Islanders can be very similar, though they don’t have the same issues with socialism.

We need to bring back shame. These people have to be publicly shamed.

"We don't want your kind around us" is something that the pedohitler voters must hear wherever they go. They broke the social contract, they need to be told that their actions have consequences, and to live with them.

I don't think they can be redeemed and given the damage they are doing to the whole planet, I don't think they'll ever deserve to be. Being a maga is like being a nazi. When their leader finally croaks (let's hope soon), they should hide and live with the fear of being found out until the end of their days.

Don't worry, Republicans will win again in a landslide.

Surely this article and massive cuts to CISA will have had nothing to do with it. It will obviously be free and fair. I just hope America wakes up after they steal it and remove these clowns from office the only way left.

Yeah it’s something you desperately want to be wrong about, isn’t it?

I was the same calling Trump getting elected again.

I think you’re right, legit or not. The Democrats should have numbers but the ballot counting system is definitely compromised now.

I'm not saying they will actually win in a landslide. In case I have to spell it out, I'm saying they will tell us that, and we'll see if the American people will accept it. All of Trump's victories have been fake. The guy has nowhere near the support that is projected on the Internet. That's why he can never draw a real crowd. The silent majority is a made up thing to cover their treasonous election interference over the last decade by colluding with an adversary and billionaires to prop up oligarchy in the US.
