Same with disabling java, only enable it as required to make the sites work.

It's just a different set of tradeoffs. Firefox already enables a bunch of fingerprint protections by default, but balances that with trying not to break too many websites. If you enable it all, you might be less fingerprintable, but your experience otherwise will be worse.
Not quite what you asked, but assuming you just want a color picker, and not something specific to the firefox one, you might be better off setting up a system color picker triggered by a global shortcut. Process depends on the distro though, so I couldn't say how.
Oh, wait, thank you!
No, yeah, adding a drop menu would also be great.
Seems like there is no normal way of doing this, it's requested and known: https://connect.mozilla.org/t5/ideas/eyedropper-tool-shortcut/idi-p/137228 and https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1446238
One suggestion from these threads is to add the "Developer" button from "Customize Toolbar...". It's not a direct button for the eyedropper, but at least its only 2 clicks away now, instead using the main menu.
I'm having lots of performance issues after the last update. It seems to be getting slower with each update, sadly.
Does anyone else feel like Firefox is running kind of sluggish recently? I'm using Zen browser on Zorin OS. I feel loading times for everything has increased in the last couple of weeks. Element like volume sliders and such aren't responsive for like 5-10 seconds.
Not sure if it's my system or not but other apps run fine. I've already done optimizations in about:config but I havent tried switching browser, because I don't want to, I like Zen browser.
Been doing great for me, for what I use it for. It uses the same gecko engine that Firefox uses, but it is it's own thing, and not just a fork of Firefox.
Elements blocked. Mission accomplished.
Yeah it's way quicker just to wrongly claim it's broken on the internet.
A short-term, finicky workaround doesn't make it not an issue worth posting about
Not to be a dick, but... Did you really post about a software issue without even restarting the program first?
fixed, thanks. weird bug.
This has been a bug for a long time but devs have never reproduced and don't know what causes it.

Users report that it fixes after some kind of restart. You can try, in order:
- Restarting the browser.
- Restarting the browser in "troubleshoot mode" then restarting it again into normal mode.
- Restarting the whole computer.
As someone who grew up on that old web, I am grateful that the board game hobbyist community is still using Board Game Geek. That site is just a reskin of a pile of PHPbb forums.
How would distribute the open source of a binary?
Waterfox is a neat, well-maintained Firefox fork.
So clearly it's not meant for you.
Huh, I never heard of that one, how is your experience so far compared to Ironfox?
This absolutely is the ad we need out there.
For us here on fedi, yes we all use librewolf or something. And the idea that the internet is going to shit is a daily conversation.
But for Joe Shmoe and his grandma, oftentimes how do you even begin to explain all that? This they can relate to and maybe snap them out of the endless big tech scroll.
This makes me uncomfortable, and I already use Firefox
Basically every site with cloudflare with "anti bot" protection
The problem isn't the user agent. Its the internet and website admins.
I use a hardened Firefox, which is very very anti fingerprinting. So much so, that cloud flare refuses to let me load websites because they can't uniquely fingerprint me.
So that breaks ~25% of the net
Kind of have to agree with this. I'm still using Firefox, but I've very seriously considered changing. Because it's just managing to piss me off more and more all the time.
Just as an example, I have two websites that I visit on a fairly frequent basis that Firefox absolutely loves to go to the previous page when I click the next page button over and over and over again. And it's like, okay, you are getting really, really annoying now.
It's bad enough that I'm just like, has Blink won the web. But there is WebKit, and of course there's Ladybird and Servo. But Ladybird and Servo aren't ready yet.
