The problem is, the US has never been a normal country. Ever. Not a single one of us is unaware of the danger the US posed to humanity. We just always assumed that the people of America would always keep it in check, if for only their own survival and self interest. What Trump did was prove to us all, is that this assumption was false. America is not the special case we thought it was.

So now, the only thing we can do is recalibrate around the reality that it is not, in fact safe to have the kind of relationship we had before. Not just for one administration, but ever. Because if it happened once, it can and likely will happen again.

Some lines you cross, don't have a normal to go back to.

"The way things were" as in "not a fascist hellhole". There's plenty to fix in a normal country for sure, but the first step is reverting it to a normal country.

Also, I was talking about putting the names of things back to where they belong.

This is iMO slightly different. Notice that all leaders sheltered by trump were from equivalent pro Russia far right parties. Orban from Hungary, Ziobro from Poland, Bolsonaro from Brazil etc.

They all worked together and sending money they stole from their countries to support each other. For example CPAC was funded by Orban. You don't hear much about it now that he lost power.

It's all they have. Can't make fuel cheaper, can't make groceries cheaper, can't stop the war, they love the genocide in Gaza, they have nothing at all to campaign on except that the left is somehow both implementing Sharia law and also turning your kids trans.
