I'm a big fan of throw builds, with giant barb + ice gear and a giant barb throw-all-the-enemies-at-each-other being maybe the most fun I've had.

But there's other throw options out there. I know eldritch knight throwers exist, though I've never tried it what with enjoying other EK play enough that I rarely experiment with them.

Never did rogue knife throw run either, for the same reason.

Figured I'd ask my fellow lemmizens and see what y'alls preferred throwers are, what builds you like, etc.

I run pretty heavily modded nowadays, so I'm interested in any opinions about those as well.

I'm thinking Halfling is a given, 1 level of Nature Cleric to get all armor proficiencies, guidance, and most importantly Shillelagh for the vibe of whacking things with a magic stick.

Then 6 Swords Bard for Extra Attack and several on-theme spells. If I make sure Bard is always my most recent new class, Shillelagh should run off Charisma.

Round it out with 5 levels of some sort of Rogue for 3d6 sneak attack that should play nicely with Durge's invisibility cloak. Swashbuckler plays off Charisma further, but Arcane Trickster gives more spell slots? Thief would give two bonus actions so I still have one after I Shillelagh up.

Thoughts?

I want to have a wizard, Druid, sorcerer and warlock in my party.

My “tav” will be a female dark urge who will seek to romance Gale.

I know Gale will be my wizard. I won’t use Halsin but for a few instances. And I won’t pick up wyll at all.

My party is going to be Gale, Laezel, and Astarion. I’m thinking Laezel will be a sorcerer and Astarion a Warlock. That’ll make my Tav the Druid. I’ll have Shadowheart who I’ll make a Wizard, and I’ll most likely just use her for certain story beats.

I’ll be super squishy, though. What would be some tips on surviving? What would some good feats be?

Kind of a downer, like everyone else apparently can make these cool cakes, but mine are always missing something.

Is your party outnumbered? Low on armour? Confined to a narrow passage? No worries, mate! Just roll out this camouflaged welcome mat, and let your foes take care of themselves!

Shape a piece of ground into hard spikes. A creature walking on the spikes takes 2d4 piercing damage for every 1.5 m / 5 ft it moves.

The diminutive die in that description might look laughable at first glance, but consider how large the spiked area is: 40 ft diameter, meaning 16d4 or an average of 40 damage to anything that crosses its full width. All those tetra-dice sure are pointy!

The area is wider than a typical humanoid's movement per turn, so most things without wings won't have time to do much after crossing it.

On top of that:

The spikes are difficult terrain, halving a creature's movement speed.

So, while waiting for the baddies to slog through the brambles, you can pass the time with target practice on their ranged-attack buddies.

What's that you say? Your visitors somehow made it across, and are now breathing down your neck and twice as pissed off? Perfect! Now's the time to practice your thunderwave, or favorite knock-back ability, or turn undead if the neighbours are necrotic, or just give them a good old fashioned shove, and let them enjoy your garden tour all over again.

Wait a minute! You're facing a threat of higher intelligence and refined poise, and they stopped before stepping on your grass? What a great time for your druid to yoink them out of their comfort zone with a thorn whip, or (if you earned it as a reward) try out Sorrow's similar spell.

Did your barbarian charge in before you could seed the field? Ask her to toss a body or two onto the flower bed while they're still standing. They make great compost!

In short, wizards and sorcerers might love to talk about their fireballs, but with this horticultural marvel, bards have more fun. All natural, certified organic, and (as a level 2 spell) cheap and easy.

Happy plowing!

Basically looking for people's experiences across multiple playthroughs in this game. Tell me all about the unexpected things you found, especially after more than two playthroughs.

I'm currently on my second run, close to the end. The first run I played Tav. I thought myself pretty thorough with map exploration, and by the time I finished I had a pretty good idea of which quests I had left unfinished and which characters I wanted to interact more/less/differently in my next run.

I wasn't expecting the game to feel this different though, and I'm loving it for it. So now on my second run I am playing Durge, I recruited Laezel and Minthara (previously I didn't...) and I made sure to find all pieces of Dribbles. I set myself to antagonize the Emperor in this run, unlike in my previous one. Oh and I made sure to keep the windmill gnome alive in the blighted village, since previously I accidentally pulled the wrong lever and yeeted him away, lol. I thought that was it, that would be most of the missing content I was interested in.

I... didn't expect to find so many different bits and pieces here and there or because of the order in which I did things. I realised I could recruit Scratch, an owlbear, and also an intellect devourer. I was surprised to see that entering the shadow cursed lands from the mountains as opposed to the grimforge would give me the opportunity to join the drider's caravan. Straight to moonrise, skipping the Inn. I rescued the prisoners and Minthara and was surprised, again, to see I could take them all, and myself and the party by boat to the Inn even if I hadn't yet been at the Inn.

I also realised I pretty much sucked exploring the map in Act 3; so many doors left unopened. For example I discovered there are mausoleums one can actually break into and explore in the graveyard. How come I missed that before, I don't understand. There is a mindflayer in the windmill in Rivington, and I should have taken the emperor's advice regarding it. In this run, my companions actually pointed at the shop Jaheira said would be the safe place, so I brought Jaheira with me and oh boy I discovered she actually has content exclusively for her. Her little questline was totally unexpected; previously I just let her tag along at camp but mostly ignored her. Discovering this as Durge I guess added extra flavor.

Etc. I could go on forever, but I want to hear what surprised you. Bring it on, maybe you can inspire me to try something different in my next run.

I'm trying to make sure I don't miss any quests or items in BG3. Are there any good ways to track quests, hidden stuff, or collectibles? Any mods or tools that help with keeping track of everything? Would love to hear any tips from other completionists!
