Oh yeah, that's fair then and totally me misunderstanding.

I don't even have a car so the social ramifications of changing oil yourself are a little lost on me. All I know about car maintenance is what little I remember from driver's ed - like how you're not allowed to wash it outside of facilities with certain waste water filtering infrastructure and how to check your oil level.

The Insider is an online publication specializing in investigative journalism, fact-checking, and exposing fake news. It was founded by independent Russian journalist Roman Dobrokhotov.

From what I can tell, it is quite possibly among the most reliable sources regarding Russia out there.

    1. Obtaining a monopoly by [various reasons] is legal

    Steam is not a monopoly

Am I missing something here? Just because Steam doesn't violate the (comparatively weak) US antitrust law does not make it not a monopoly. Especially when there are clearly legal ways to have a monopoly according to point 2 and point 3.

Huh? Steam is absolutely a monopoly in PC game sales.

Monopoly doesn't mean there are no alternatives. It means controlling an overwhelming share of the market.

Even Google has a monopoly w.r.t. search engines despite controlling less of its market than Steam does. If your site is deindexed by Google alone you might as well not exist for most of the population.

  • Plus the average US car consumes much more fuel than the average UK car. So your 2x expense would quickly become a 3-4x expense. A Ford F350 truck happens to be slightly less efficient than a Ford Focus.

But seriously, dirt cheap fuel has caused the demand for fuel efficient vehicles to be near zero in the US. No one would drive these stupid trucks otherwise.
