Kind of amazed that this article didn't include the fact that Councils were restricted with their spending of the proceeds of Right to buy sales (of which they received 50%) to paying off their debt.

Entryism is such a dumb word, it's essentially coded language for "I don't like these people's opinions". This infighting is one of the biggest problems for the left.

Yeah they suck, and I'd like to see heavy regulation on them if not banning them altogether. My dog hates the noise, and we don't need more microplastics spread everywhere for a bit of entertainment,

Wait, so you're telling me that Matt Hancock, the MP who fucked off to do I'm a celeb after getting caught cheating on his wife is dodgy as hell?

    I'm stunned.

    Early retirement, absolutely.

With regards to politicians wages, I think they should be commensurate with the responsibilities of the job. But they should have no other means of income during their term, and potentially for a period afterwards. There would need to be much more stringent auditing and enforcement to ensure this.

Politicians engaging I'm outside employment seems crazy to me, and is clearly a route to corruption.

I feel like both positions are wrong (and obvious attempts to either make this product more impressive than it currently is or avoid meaningful regulations). There is not currently evidence that LLMs pose such an existential threat to humanity, but that's not to say there won't be.

A much bigger threat as it stands is these companies having such terribly safety processes that their technology keeps acting in unexpected ways. These are not companies that should have a financial stake in energy infrastructure, not to mention the further consolidation of power by these douchebag billionaires.
