This happens to me a lot these days - search for something, website/app lists some stuff one of which I’m interested in. But as soon as I move my finger to tap on it, the website/app loads something else and move what I wanted to tap up or down. I unintentionally click another result and get annoyed I have to do the whole thing all over again.

I immediately reject any theories that pretend to “know” what they are talking about. I mean WTF are they talking about here ? We have limited senses to sense this world and limited communication capabilities, that was built on top of our fear of death and suddenly these theories trying to claim they “know it all” and this is the “judgment”. WTF. Get off your high horse.

Nobody knows anything. We ALL are just dumb. World is too big to know.

Ah that’s interesting. I didn’t think of them as separate universes.

My point still holds though. I mean, we call 3D as 3D because of 1D and 2D. Since they don’t exist in our reality (but of course they are mathematically useful). One could still argue that since it cannot(has not) be perceived since it is theoretical a.t.m, it’s not real.

May be this is some form of nihilistic thought too 🙂

Well it’s a public forum, one specifically for thought experiment that too. I’m not trying to claim anything. I’d be happy to be proved wrong too.

Your response is basically “I don’t have an answer for you but sushh”. I don’t have anything else for you pal, may be try to approach things a little open minded and less condescending.

    Ok. Hear me out.

We draw a line on a sheet of paper. That line only has x and y dimensions mathematically.

    BUT

That line is a thin layer of ink. It is on a paper which has a width (however small it be). To explain 2 dimensions we abstracted the whole thing as 2D when in fact it is 3D.

There are no dimensions, there are just mathematical abstractions which helps us think. But there is no proof of a physical object in 1D or 2D.

TLDR - what’s the question mark in the following scale

    Cult(-1)……………….Religion(0)……………….????(+1)

Long version (a.k.a my stupid mind’s question that is keeping me awake):

My understanding of cult is a group of people with an absurd or even possibly nefarious belief system. Like something negative.

By that definition I would put religion in the middle (though a majority of it leans towards the cult side). A group of people that is very serious about what they believe in, no matter how illogical it is.

So with this understanding what would you call the positive side ? A group of people coming together to have a tradition and belief system just for the fun of it ? Is there such thing ?
