any chance catodon will support openwebauth? similar to what hubzilla/streams has which allows seamlessly interacting with any instance you visit?
well corporations are people!
Big Carpenter?
they dont want you to stub your toes against the corners.
it supports encryption too
hubzilla does that. its a fork of friendica and implements some novel features.
yes its a good featureful project but the landing page doesnt convey that, homepage of the project doesnt look serious (compared to say bonfire/misskey etc. where you know exactly what the project is about on their project page), aesthetics matter too eventually. and someone wanting to know more about the project wouldnt know anything beside what the homepage shows, no matter how good documentation has been made by users.
yes, they could do with some polish and better documentation.
I’m thinking of the level of different content/functionality that facebook has, posts, audience control, private/group messaging, groups, marketplace, events.
If you spend your time looking beyond the 'mainstream' fedi platforms this problem has been solved by a family of softwares, hubzilla has them all, streams, forte, friendica have more or less most of what you listed.
hubzilla has wiki feature but its federated over zot protocol, you can share updates via activitypub(it has both) as status updates but to collaborate on a wiki people will need to be on zot supported platforms.
also this repo is quite old, the original source is at framagit https://framagit.org/hubzilla/
yes, i think it should be since due to hubzilla's federated login this becomes a federated marketplace where a person from a different hub can buy/sell from/to people from other hubs seamlessly.
