Remember this?

They could have chucked those things across the room, wiped their feet on them, sat on them, but they chose to sit obediently and allow themselves to be photographed with them.

These are not the men for the job.

The only things Russia exports more than oil products are propaganda and corruption.

Many formerly Russian-occupied countries spent a few generations under a system that's run as a mafia rather than a government. Estonia is a great example of resisting that culture and rebuilding quickly after re-independence. Ukraine is also culturally distinct from Russia, but Russia entrenched itself much deeper in Ukraine, because i) the land is richer, ii) the population is larger, and iii) Kyiv is 'their' place of origin.

It was much harder for Ukraine to sever the ties. Estonia had the non-violent singing revolution, while Ukraine had the bloody Euromaidan, which resulted directly in the 2014 invasion. Corruption is still an issue (and not unique to Ukraine), but at least their government listens to their people now.

Ugh, McConnell... (shakes fist gerontocratically)... I need a drink 🥃

    And that's for offense 1.

Offense 2 within 5 years of the first would be same as offense 1, plus losing the right to pay dividends and issue derivatives for a year.

Offense 3 within 5 years of the second would be same as 1 and 2, plus you get restructured as a nonprofit.

Offense 4 within 5 years of the third would be the entire management board's and executive team's browser, chat, email, and dating app history gets published...

I don't know the total amount repaid. AI suggested all but $15B, out of $426B paid out from the treasury. Also other guy said Clinton signed glass-steagall, minor note: he repealed* it.

Obama was far better than Trump and Bush, but I think he dropped the ball on that one, and on Russia's annexation of Crimea. He was in a strong position to empower the people, but he kinda left the door open for authoritarianism.

Was it the best decision to continue Bush era policy, hang millions of families out to dry, deny accountability, and allow neoliberals to pursue their mythical infinite growth? Just... bygones?

Are there enough US lawmakers who don't own stock in the companies that would receive these bailouts?

Do enough of them understand that the rest of the economy would be in better shape if the biggest AI companies would face a strong setback in the next 2 years? Jesus, are they even aware that more American-made AI tools exist beyond Claude and ChatGPT?

Remember, even the biggest Obama supporters looked at the Wall Street bailouts like wtf dude... If people see that folly again, we're gonna see some crowdfunded drone strikes on data centers 🍿

China, dude, relax. With Trump in the white house you're so perfectly poised to take the throne... why you gotta ruin it by being a petty betty?

We can talk a trade deal, but first you have to unwind.
