Yep you are correct. Summit cannot hide user profiles. This needs to be implemented on the server side. I don't think this is actually possible on the fediverse due to how federation works. It's the same reason why votes are technically public. A backend could however make it harder to users to see profiles but it will never be impossible.

Made this for a Halloween themed potluck. The sauce and meatballs are made from scratch but the squid ink pasta is store bought. I used fresh mozzarella + black olives for the eyes.

Taste wise, it tastes exactly like spaghetti and meatballs but it does look very strange though.

Technically the pasta shape is not spaghetti but fileja so it should really be fileja and meatballs. I really wanted squid ink pasta for this but I couldn't find squid ink spaghetti.

    Chicken curry (lemmy.world)

This is my favorite indian curry to make at home. The recipe started off as a generic indian curry recipe I got off the internet. Then I started to adjust and change the recipe over time. As the recipe exists today it is sort of a cross between a chicken tikka masala and butter chicken.

I adjusted the recipe to optimize for flavor so it's probably not authenticate at all.

    Chicken korma (lemmy.world)

Been making a lot of indian curries recently. It's been a couole of years since I last made chicken korma and I remember back then the recipe I used was very basic and simple.

This time I spent a lot of time researching the recipe, looking at different variations, regional differences, the history of the dish and while also trying to justify why certain things are done in a scientific way.

Then I tabulated my findings and created one recipe out of all of them. I can't really claim credit for my recipe nor do I know if my recipe is even authentic. All I know if that is was delicious and the chicken came out insanely tender.

    I'll comment the recipe below.

Apologies for the wait, but this turned out to be a massive update.

This update adds post and comment templates. Templates are meant to be a way to reduce post/comment friction when certain posts/comments all follow some pattern. Now you can save those patterns and re-use them easily. They are sort of like drafts but meant to be more persistent.

The main reason why this update ended up being a huge amount of work is the amount of new screens this feature added. This resulted in a lot of mauling over different UI designs before finally deciding on a good design. Probably 1.5 weeks were spent on just thinking about UI design.

The update also required a large amount of new code so there is that as well.

There is a 2nd big feature I'd like to introduce as well, this one might be a more controversial so I made sure to make this feature opt-in and also basically hidden unless you want to use it. It's the addition of the AI image detector. This feature lets users check for AI signals in an image to determine if an image is likely AI generated. The approach taken has a low false-positive rate in exchange for a higher false negative rate (ie. images determined to be AI generated are extremely likely to be AI generated while images determined not to be AI generated might not always be correct).

This feature uses Open AI's content provenance API (it's what powers https://openai.com/research/verify/). Unfortunately this API has a low rate limit meaning to use it you will need to provide your own API key. You can get one for free and instructions are provided in the app.

The AI image detector is hidden by default, in order to enable the feature, you will need to navigate to Settings > Misc > Enable OpenAI tools and paste your Open AI API key into the app. Once you've done this, long pressing/tapping the more button on an image will expose a new option: "Check AI usage".

If anyone has any feedback about these new features please let me know in the comments.

Not sure what's going on but whenever I sit in the chair in my home office area, Sencha would come by and start scratching at all of the furniture. Eg. He'd scratch at the drawers next to me or the cabinet beside me or even the wall.

He doesn't seem to just want attention since if I pet him too much he will start trying to bite my hand but if I stop he will go back to scratching at things.

Last night he was doing this and I gave him some food. But after eating it he came back and started scratching again.

If I sit anywhere else in the hoose he will leave me alone. It's just this chair/area.

Stumped. Recent photo for cat tax.

Edit: Oh yeah I tried putting him on my desk as well when he does this but he just switches to pawing at my hand while on my desk.

The old toilet paper holder didn't leave enough space between the arm and the wall. It couldnt accommodate the large rolls of toilet paper from costco. I finally changed it out to one that could.

Also fixed two issues with the toilet flush valve. The first is that I found I often had to flush twice to clear the bowl, I figured out how to adjust how much water the flush valve lets out and increased it so hopefully we don't have to double flush as often.

The 2nd issue I noticed while fixing the first issue is that the flush valve had the buttons swapped so the full flush button aligned with the half flush button on the outside and the half flush aligned with the full flush button.

Hope these changes will make using our restroom a more enjoyable experience.

    Chicken Madras (lemmy.world)

This was my first time making and also eating chicken madras. I made it a day before eating it since I like letting the meat rest in the curry and I think it makes it taste even better.

My SO who doesn't normally like indian curry taste tested it and said it was good and ended up.eating a bowl of it.

I do plan on ordering it at a restaurant soon-ish so I can tell how close I was.

I loosely followed the recipe here: https://youtu.be/3rrDLtUC0Kg

This release will be centered around post/comment templates. I was going to make a WIP after the feature was done but it's taking forever so making the post now.

My original plan was to crank this out in a week and do a release, simple and easy. However, this feature turned out to be a lot more work than anticipated.

I was first hung up on the UI design of this feature. Then after getting that sorted out, the amount of code/number of moving parts needed to get this working was more than expected. Can't really give an estimate of when this feature will be done so all I can say is "soon".
