Not often I see my neck of the woods - I grew up in Burleson. In my religious upbringing days, we'd go down to a big Christian camp outside of Glen Rose. So I have mixed feelings about those memories. heh. But it's really pretty down that way.

And this is a really nice shot :)

Plenty of people here on lemmy downvote me when I politely ask folks to consider not using that epithet. While it seems the usage of it has gone way down, there are still plenty who feel it is their god-given right to use it. I've been given all sorts of reasons people think it's okay to use.

Between my dad and I, we'd accumulated several hundred floppies with software, pictures, data, whatever stuff we'd accumulated over the years. I embarked on a big project somewhere around 1998 or so to copy all the contents of the floppies onto my hard drive and sort through it all, and... I just... petered out after a while.

Whatever it seemed like worth saving just really wasn't.

I discovered that's largely true of my Downloads folder. Every so often I go move all the contents to an archive folder, and anything that was in the archive folder gets deleted. I always think "I should keep this around in case I need it!" and whenever I do need it (like a new computer or reinstalling the OS or whatever), I just go grab what I need or install using choco or winget or of course apt for Linux or whatever..... Docs/pics/vids I keep elsewhere, of course, but all that download stuff just adds up to wasted drive space. heh

I don't normally like experimental stuff, and this style is not normally my jam, but I was put on to these guys a few months ago, and I've found myself having to go back and listen to some of their songs every few days or weeks. It's really awesome stuff. Surprisingly awesome.

Not only is it just absolutely interesting, but the talent involved is amazing. The new ideas... playing with the beats and loops.... The costumes are weird but they kinda get under your skin after a while, although seeing drummer's eyes is freaky. lol.

I cannot recommend this enough. You are likely to get addicted. It is strangely compelling. :)

Well, that's basically what I said - we agree - although the Dems don't have enough majority to get over cloture, so they'll have to do things like reconciliation and such. But yes, exactly. Pass what they can, put it all on record.

“It’s going to be a big agreement, and it’s going to involve more than Ukraine… I could even say it might involve all of Europe,” Trump told reporters at the White House.

I literally cannot roll my eyes any harder than I am right now. I'm touch-typing because all I can see is the back of my head.

Y'know, I'm sympathetic to her on this one. I keep trying, but it's like two or three dudes every time I leave a store. It takes forever to get to my car! Well, I mean, like two extra minutes. But y'know, that's valuable time!

I agree that's likely, but they need to make sure that they 1) DO try to pass the legislation we want them to pass and 2) Are very very vocal about it, because the oligarch/fascist owned media WILL try to downplay it. So we have to keep up the pressure on them, but also make sure people realize what's going on.
