I went with mailbox in the end and it's been pretty good so far. It's not the main reason I chose them but it is so much easier to read out "mailbox dot org" over the phone to someone than having to spell out the name of some of the other privacy-focused providers.
It's our first Halloween living in a nice-ish area and it was a bit of culture shock getting so many trick or treaters. I bought so much chocolate and we ran out within an hour of the first kids at the door. Most of them were polite and it was nice to pay it forward this year, it was always my favourite holiday as a child.
Fwiw, we don't (yet, it's coming into force next year) have that right in the UK and they are refunding me anyway. They extended the refund period a couple of weeks to give me a chance to migrate away as well. The whole experience emailing them made me wonder if their customer support is just sick of the company by now because it felt like customer support were almost glad to get another refund through
Thanks, I've just emailed them there to see if I can get it cancelled and refunded from a month from now, just to have a few weeks to migrate. Now it's just a case of looking for alternatives which'll be a pain cause I naively put all my eggs in Proton's basket...
My proton subscription just auto-renewed for the year which sucks but I guess I have a year to migrate somewhere less shit
The weird thing is, the Tories kind of tried this but bungled it so badly it would be too politically toxic to try again for a while. They had the ECO4 scheme for free and discounted cavity and solid wall insulation, but no requirements for the companies providing the insulation to be certified or deemed reputable. So a lot of cowboy companies sprung up to take advantage of the free money, installed it poorly, and now the horror stories on social media scare people off cavity wall insulation and external wall cladding entirely.
We had this devolved in Northern Ireland rather than taking part in the GB scheme, and in a very rare case of our assembly being competent you can only get the grant through specific companies that have been vetted in advance.

Congratulations to Ben's mouth (and Sam)
Please not one of the copslop showrunners.
Amy's riddle: go, man, go
Sam: I think it's a watermelon
Could she let the Northern Ireland secretary know, so that we won't have far-right ethnic supremacy marches forced down streets here? Since he's been talking about compromising with them all weekend
Despicable that the courts and the parades commission have allowed this to go ahead, and good on the residents for not taking this lying down. These are sectarian hate marches from an organisation that both refuses membership to Irish Catholics and which has murdered 21 people, including 3 children, for the ability to march down this street and antagonise that community. The fact that the British secretary of state and the PSNI trying to both sides this and appealing to the law as a moral authority is disgusting.
I like that every time someone asks what they're doing, Sam and Adam say "scavenger hunt" and Ben gives them the marketing pitch for the show
