I don't think he would be, at least not canonically. He'd be on reddit.

The line in TBBT that jumped the shark for me was when they were discussing their favorite versions of Linux. Ok, so far so good, very on brand for the characters. But when Sheldon said his Linux flavor of choice was Ubuntu, I knew they were only writing superficially. In my mind, Sheldon is probably an Arch user.

I'm in the early-ish stages of a full Star Trek rewatch (or watch for the first time, for a couple of series). Apropos, I was on the penultimate episode of TAS when news about Stewart broke. Finished TAS, watched The Inner Light, then started TNG.

I guess what I'll say about the "hate" for Wesley is that we– the audience– were told to hate Wesley, at least in the first part of season one. Picard had active disdain for him, and the entire crew simply called him "the boy." Roddenberry was like George Lucas in my opinion; the best there was at the big ideas, woefully bad ad the small ones. Individual episode writing and character development being "small" in this context.

I almost edited my comment to revise my position, and I was waiting for someone to call me out. I'm glad you did. Immigrants built the US (Canada too), and fully earnestly I believe it's what makes America great. I would be angry if someone questioned, say, Ilhan Omar's citizenship and patriotism because she was born elsewhere. I can't not hold that opinion simply because Musk is a piece of shit.

So without snark, I don't question his citizenship. I don't believe he holds the values I think make an "American" (or, uncomfortably, maybe he does…), but for better or for worse, a citizen he is.

So she ended on serving on a jury for about a week, and she was struck by two things. 1) the thoughtfulness of everyone else on the jury, and 2) how many people on the outside commented “why didn’t you just give an excuse to get out of it?”

I know this was just one example, but the system worked as we’d hope for in this case.

That is generally my feeling, yes. But if I were a time traveler there’d still be two or three events I’d probably avoid. Will this be one worth avoiding?

I get that the question is in contradiction to the statement about timing the market; I guess I’m just thinking out loud and wondering other people takes on it is?

I what I mean by timing the market is reallocating based on what I think may happen. Simply increasing contributions (if I can) when the market craters might technically be timing it, but differently than what I mean.

Still waiting on pedals and seatpost, but I'm impatient to share now that it's ridable. I love vintage steel, but wanted a modern setup. Best of both world, I hope. Grant Petersen designed no less.
