I think Let's Encrypt will stay safe for quite a while, but unfortunately because of the political climate we're in right now, it may not stay safe in the future.

I work with WordPress professionally and honestly I really do enjoy the platform, there's a lot of it that's very good. Having said that, none of my personal projects are on WordPress. Most of them are on Hugo and soon a lot of them will be on 11ty.

Do yourself a favor, do Linux Mint Debian Edition (LMDE). It's got all the slickness of Mint, but the core is based on Debian instead of Ubuntu.
