Qrixkuor is pretty scary, but doesn’t really compare to Portal like mentioned above. I really like that Veilburner’s albums all sound like performing a ritual to see through the veil and then losing your mind.

My biggest requirements are physical buttons, warm backlight, usb c, and the ability to have Koreader on there. (Bonus points, being able to buy it used as I try not to buy new electronics)

The reason I am pretty adamant about Koreader is because I want my highlights synced with readwise (and eventually my obsidian vault and so on). My kobo (libra?) color was my first non Amazon reader and I love it but my wife has now hijacked it after losing her kindle.

For now, I am reading on my wife’s supernote (stealing right back, and side loaded Koreader onto it) the lack of buttons and backlight are annoying, but I have to say the screen is great. Not sure where I would look after that, probably a boox.

More Everything Forever. Pretty good overview of the rationalist and effective altruism movements that have turned Silicon Valley and the AI industry into what it is today. I have heard the author say in interviews that a good alternative title is “These fucking people”.

Just finished the Nord Stream Conspiracy and it was entertaining, gave a bunch of background I didn’t know about. Jumped back into the Phoenix Project, a book about DevOps, and a book I have to read in small bites because it stresses me out.

A sensible and measured reply. That being said, when you see images/videos of all the gas turbines running and the shimmering air from the heat by colossus/stargate/whatever it’s called it’s difficult not to think that it’s doing damage now
