If you're a hiker the one one from the 70s in right in the middle of the 100mi. The other other is from the 50s, a huge aluminum thing you can walk through that crashed in the mountains in the fog. A bit off trail and takes a while to find. Its like a week or two south of the 100mi if I remember correctly? Theres more ive heard of of but not seen. Ghostrains are just on alltrails theres a few.

Where I live yea only like a few hundred in my area. I live south of Maine though and go up there to hike a lot and they do have quite a bit of water. Ive only seen two fully wrecked planes that are too deep for anyone to clean up and one ghost train. Oh yeah and theres the failed logging equipment in the middle of old growth, thats always fun to run across. The ice breaker train thing in the logging museam in Patten is real cool. Thats all north of Stephen King though. He's all fancy in a real town n shit.

    Sure, sure.

But for a week plus of meals its a lot cheaper. I'd usally bring like one fancy backpacker meal for a 5 day stretch if they had any good ones in town. NO MOUNTAIN HOUSE.

Plus you can put other stuff in there. Miso soup & ramen, Asian style. Tvp, taco seasoning, some chips if you pass a gas station on a road walk, taco night. Gotta have some variety.

    Hi everyone,

So I made a post awhile back and the the advice I ended up going with was hey wait for steam machine pricing and make a choice.

I want to make a decent gaming PC. I want to move away from windows. I have a reservation for a steam machine! Buts I assumed it'd be closer to $500! The reservation is for $1200 FML!

So advice part, looking to see if I can build a better machine rig for $800-1k. No expirence with Linux. Last built a PC for myself in 2007 - so let's call that no expirence besides square hole goes into the round peg. But I understand more or less what I'm signing up for even starting from zero.

Ive not had a PC or gaming PC in 15 years. I want to get back into it now.

Im fairly against windows. I'd like to try a Linux system and thought this would be a fun way to get into Linux.

Ive been looking at some black friday sales here Newegg sales

Its been so long since ive looked at PC specs I feel like im completely new. Ive read that an AMD GPU can be easier for Linux so I started there.

    So Ive got two questions!

What are some must have specs in you opinion to run most modern games, and would you have a #1 recommend for a prebuilt to get started with?

What disto is best for a total newbie who wants to use it for gaming and eventually transition for anything/everything else?
